BNP Paribas announces today the appointment of Jacques Michel as the CEO & Country Manager for BNP Paribas India. He succeeds Frederic Amoudru, who was in the position for 6 years.
In his new capacity Jacques Michel will be responsible for further enhancing the growth of BNP Paribas' franchise with an emphasis on extending client coverage and intensifying links with the Indian business community, with whom the bank has already had strong relationships. Jacques Michel will develop and reinforce the BNP Paribas partnerships that form a crucial part its Indian strategy. Mr. Michel is a seasoned banker and has experience across market cycles as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas India, Jacques Michel was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Risk Office, Fortis Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong since January 2008. He has worked in Asia for 18 years, 10 of which have been in Hong Kong. Jacques Michel has served with Credit Lyonnais then Calyon from 1996 to 2007 as Senior Country Officer in Thailand and as Chief Risk Officer for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.
