BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Lazell as Head of Credit Markets, Asia/Pacific (ex-Japan). He will be based in Hong Kong and report to Eric Raynaud, Head of Fixed Income Asia/Pacific and David Ovenden, Global Head of Credit. Brian will be responsible for BNP Paribas' credit market activities in Asia, embracing origination, syndicate, sales, trading and research for credit derivatives and debt products, including securitization.
Brian has been with BNP Paribas since 1998, most recently as Global Head of Emerging Markets. Before that, he was European Head of Credit Trading. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, he was at Chase Manhattan in London as a Managing Director and European Head of Emerging Markets from 1995 to 1998. Previously, he worked for JP Morgan as Head of Emerging Markets Trading, Europe and Asia from 1989 to 1994.
Commenting on the appointment, David Ovenden said: "Brian will bring to our already fast growing fixed income activities in Asia/Pacific his seniority and broad wealth of experience. This will allow us to enhance our Client franchise, especially with regional debt issuers.
