Professor Stanley Fischer, Governor of the Bank of Israel, has today issued a licence in Jerusalem for the opening of a BNP Paribas branch which will allow the bank to operate all its businesses in the country. The licence is addressed to Jean-Jacques Santini, Head of Retail Banking in Emerging Markets and Overseas, and to Charles Reisman, Head of Territory for BNP Paribas in Israel.
BNP Paribas applied to the Bank of Israel for the licence in October 2005.
BNP Paribas has had a representative office in Israel since 1998.
