Bertrand Cizeau, 45, has been appointed BNP Paribas Group Head of Brand, Communications and Quality with effect from 1st October. He takes over from Antoine Sire, 52, who has decided to leave BNP Paribas in order to pursue a project linked to his lifelong interest in the history of film-making.
Bertrand Cizeau previously served as Head of Communication & Advertising at
BNP Paribas Personal Finance (then operating under the Cetelem brand) from 2001 to 2011, before becoming Deputy Head of Brand, Communications and Quality for the BNP Paribas Group in 2012, working alongside Antoine Sire.
BNP Paribas Group CEO Jean-Laurent Bonnafé commented:
“During his 16 years at the head of Group Communications, Antoine Sire has steered the process of building the BNP Paribas brand, from the communication work supporting the merger of BNP and Paribas and the creation of the Group logo in 2000, through the ongoing process of internationalisation and the development of our sponsorship and corporate philanthropy policies, to the establishment of our brand presence in the digital media. The BNP Paribas brand is today ranked by Brand Finance as the 8th most valuable bank brand in the world. Antoine has now decided to devote his energies to his personal passion for the cinema. I would like to take this opportunity to convey our gratitude to him for his achievements and to express our great affection for him. Bertrand Cizeau, who embarked on his career with the Group in 1994, has played an important part in its communication work for over ten years. I am confident that we can count on him, together with all the Group's Communication teams, to help drive the BNP Paribas brand forward to further success in the years to come.”
