8133 students worldwide will take part in the BNP Paribas game “Ace Manager – The Second Set”

8133 students from 98 countries will take part in “Ace Manager – The Second Set”, starting tomorrow and continuing until 17 March. This is the second time
BNP Paribas has organised this on-line game designed to increase awareness of the group in the world's universities and schools.

2711 teams, each made up of three students*, will evolve in the virtual world of “Universe City” and test their skills as bankers in an assignment set in the present and in the real economy, related to the world of tennis. To help former tennis star John McKenzie create and develop his business, “Green Tennis”, which markets sustainable eco-development products linked to the sport, the students will, among other things, have to:
- draw up a financing plan to launch the new company and contribute to its development, (Retail Banking)
- acts as consultants to John McKenzie on issues of real estate and asset management (Investment Solutions)
- and assist the company “Green Tennis Inc.” with its international commercial development. (Corporate & Investment Banking).

Throughout the game, the students will also have to demonstrate their ability to put into practice the BNP Paribas values: responsiveness, creativity, commitment and ambition.

The countries most represented are: India, Turkey, Italy, China, Russia, Ukraine, Hong Kong, Egypt, Belgium and France.

The first on-line phase of “Ace Manager – The Second Set” is to take place on the site www.acemanager.bnpparibas.com. This international competition will culminate in a grand final between the five best teams, to be held in Paris on 14 April 2010. The candidates will then have to take up one last challenge before a jury of experts made up of emeritus professors from the participating schools and members of the BNP Paribas management team.

All the teams in the final will be rewarded:
The first team will receive EUR 9 000
The second team will receive EUR 3 000
The third team will receive EUR 1,500
All the finalists will also be given tickets for tennis matches.

“Ace Manager - The Second Set” was designed with BNP Paribas bankers in the field and is in line with the strategy to make young people more aware of and more attracted to BNP Paribas. This game is particularly useful outside France, where the brand is already well known among corporate clients and, in some countries, private clients, but not sufficiently so among students. BNP Paribas aims to become one of the preferred names as a student employer throughout the world.
This game is a fun means of highlighting the essential role of bankers in funding their clients' projects in the real economy: corporate and private.
To increase awareness of its brand and hence its attractiveness among students in the best universities and schools across the world, BNP Paribas has capitalised on the world of tennis, with which the brand is already closely associated thanks to 37 years of world sponsoring, and on its great capacity to recruit and offer attractive career prospects. BNP Paribas has 68% of its staff and clients outside France, recruits a wide variety of profiles across the world and offers a range of over 300 different professions.

The first Ace Manager attracted over 4 000 students from 106 countries.
Over 700 000 students from all over the world have been in contact with the BNP Paribas brand, while the Ace Manager site has recorded over 200 000 visits.

BNP Paribas is working closely with TBWA\Corporate on this project of worldwide dimensions.

BNP Paribas and employment
BNP Paribas recruits many talented people every year. In 2010, BNP Paribas is planning to take on around 15 000 people in the world, including 3 000 in France.
The recruitment principle at BNP Paribas is based on integration in the long term. To achieve this, BNP Paribas provides individual career management, with dedicated teams who assist each member of staff with their career, their mobility and their choices. The group also has in-depth talent and skill development programmes.
Given the very wide variety in the group, carers are developed with regular mobility within a single business line, between business lines, in other geographic locations, etc.
