BNP Paribas is supporting the release of WOMAN, a film directed by Anastasia Mikova and Yann Arthus-Bertrand as a tribute to women around the world. Previewed at the 76th Venice Film Festival in September 2019, the film received the Premio Sfera 1932 award and will be released in cinemas on 4 March 2020. The Group is the film’s main partner.
The film brings the women’s lives to the screen, each shaped by her family background, culture or faith. It underscores their determination and their capacity to change the world, despite the numerous difficulties they face. WOMAN tackles themes as varied as maternity, education, marriage and financial independence...
The film takes an admiring look at all those women who, in their own way, assert themselves and combat stereotypes. A message of love and hope sent to all women around the world. An attempt to understand their lives, to look back at what has been achieved as well as everything that remains to be done.
The film’s profits will be donated to the WOMAN(s) (Women on media and news - school) association, whose main mission will be to train women and girls around the world in media professions.
BNP Paribas, which has been committed to equal rights between men and women for many years, is supporting WOMAN as a main partner.

For several years the Group has also supported initiatives by the French director Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Having supported the 6 then 7 billion Others project and the HUMAN exhibition in 2017, the Group is also a founding member of the GoodPlanet Foundation, launched by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in 2005 to make ecology and humanism a focal point of awareness and to inspire people to take practical action for the planet.
To mark the release of WOMAN, BNP Paribas set out to make the film accessible to as many people as possible by organising screenings in more than 15 countries.
