As the second of three pillars in the 2025 GTS Strategic plan, technology is at the heart of BNP Paribas’ efforts to support its clients and accelerate their transition. We take a look back at some of the notable milestones in technology so far in 2022, from digital services to initiatives that make tech more accessible.
VivaTech 2022: BNP Paribas presents its innovative, 100% customer-oriented payment solutions
LIt has always been obvious that payment methods would be a key feature of the digital revolution. All economic players, from consumers to large corporates, and including merchants are concerned. This has become a strategic issue for BNP Paribas. Start-ups are part of the solution, enabling better integrate digital uses in the payment process. This is what was showcased at ViVaTech 2022, where BNP Paribas and its partners demonstrated the power of 100% customer-oriented innovation.

BNP Paribas and EDF ENR partner on first renewable project bond as a digital asset
On 7 July 2022, BNP Paribas structured, tokenised and distributed a bond, the proceeds of which aim at refinancing a solar energy project sponsored by EDF through its subsidiary EDF ENR. This native digital asset, issued on the public blockchain, represents the first renewable energy bond tokenisation on the project financing market.read the press release
