1MillionHours2Help: Let's celebrate International Volunteer Day

Launched in 1985 by the United Nations, International Volunteer Day celebrates every 5 December the volunteers who, alongside associations, are committed to a fairer and more united world. This day recognizes their essential contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and in 2020, will acknowledge all their efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

1MillionHours2Help

Since 2018, our 1MillionHours2Help volunteer program allows all employees to participate, on their working time, in missions that contribute to supporting the 4 pillars of our corporate commitment: youth, local communities, entrepreneurs and the planet. The individual hours credit differs according to the business and country, but everyone is entitled to volunteer during work hours.

Antoine Sire, Director of Company Engagement, BNP Paribas, and Sofia Merlo, Head of Group Human Resources, BNP Paribas, show their support to the volunteers of the 1MillionHours2Help Program.

Throughout the year, and despite the very specific context of the health crisis that we are going through, a large number of employees were mobilized individually or as a team, on the ground or remotely. This commitment is all the more valuable for the associations and their beneficiaries as fragility increases.

"Through their actions on this day, as throughout the year, BNP Paribas volunteers actively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals."

Antoine Sire, Director of Company Engagement, BNP Paribas

"In these difficult times, especially for the most fragile populations, giving some time to help others and protect our planet is more important than ever. Therefore, the 1MillionHours2Help program makes complete sense."

Sofia Merlo, Head of Group Human Resources, BNP Paribas

Thank you to our volunteers!

Thank you the thousands of employees who have participated in our employee engagement program, 1MillionHours2Help.
Together, let's continue to mobilize!
