The General Management and the Executive Committee

The General Management of BNP Paribas is composed of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) plus two Chief Operating Officers and three Deputy Chief Operating Officers.

As Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé bears responsibility for the management of the Group and, for this purpose, is invested with extensive powers. Accordingly, all operational activities and Group functions fall under his direct responsibility.

The Executive Committee brings together the General Management as well as 13 other members - Heads of businesses and central functions. They meet at least once a week.

Career

Stéphanie Maarek joined the Group in 2006. She began her career within Global Markets and has held diverse positions involving trading and risk management within the business between New York, London and Paris. In December 2017, she was named Chief Conduct and Control Officer for Global Markets and CIB, in charge of the management of non-financial risks: conduct, operational and regulatory. On 1 January 2023, Stéphanie Maarek was appointed Chief Compliance Officer of BNP Paribas and a member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee.

Education

Stephanie Maarek is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and holds a Master in Mathematics in Finance from New York University.
