The General Management and the Executive Committee

The General Management of BNP Paribas is composed of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) plus two Chief Operating Officers (COO) and two Deputy Chief Operating Officers.

As Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé bears responsibility for the management of the Group and, for this purpose, is invested with extensive powers. Accordingly, all operational activities and Group functions fall under his direct responsibility.

The Executive Committee brings together the General Management as well as 14 other members - Heads of businesses and central functions. They meet at least once a week.

Chief Information Officer

Career

Bernard Gavgani began his career in 1982 and successively supported several companies in the design and management of IT projects, exercising the responsibilities of Head of Technical Services, consultant or project manager.

He joined the Group in 1995 at CIB-Capital Markets IT department and continued his career at Inspection Générale in 1999. In 2000, he became General Secretary of BNP Paribas Arbitrage, then Chief Operating Officer of the Equity Derivatives business in 2003, then Global Head of Information Technology and Operations of CIB in 2009.

Since 2018, he has been Group Chief Information Officer.

Education

Bernard Gavgani is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management and holds an Executive MBA from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris.
