About Business line/FunctionCompliance Hub - India CoE is dedicated to safeguarding the Group's reputation and mitigating risk across its global businesses by supporting a broad range of Compliance functions. The Hub serves as a strategic global partner to Compliance teams worldwide, delivering expertise in Financial Security (KYC, Sanctions, and AML), controls framework, conduct and professional ethics, data analytics and governance, and transformation initiatives including AI adoption. The Hub teams collaborate closely with Compliance and business stakeholders across the Group to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance operational resilience.
Position PurposeThe Compliance Data Office Lead will operate within India CoE Compliance Hub. The individual will perform both in individual and team capacity and drive transversal initiatives covering data governance, data lineage, data-quality controls, dashboards and automated monitoring solutions for Compliance functions
Strong data governance and analytics expertise is essential. Prior experience in AML/CTF, Financial Security or a related Compliance domain is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
Work closely with Compliance CIB Central team to evaluate systems and data with the objective of identifying and implementing data completeness and quality controls for critical datasets.
The successful candidate will be process-efficiency minded, have a high degree of business analysis and data-analytics capabilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Lead the Compliance Data Office team, setting priorities, allocating resources, governing SLAs and developing a high-performing team across data-quality, analytics and automation initiatives.
· Apply hands-on AML/CTF, Financial Security and Compliance expertise to translate regulatory, audit and business requirements into effective data controls, monitoring standards and sustainable solutions.
· Own the compliance data-quality framework, including critical data elements, data profiling, completeness and accuracy controls, issue management, end-to-end lineage, transformation mapping and current runbooks.
· Provide strong analytical leadership by interrogating complex datasets, tracing issues to root cause, assessing regulatory and business impact, and recommending prioritised tactical fixes and strategic remediation.
· Design, build and maintain automated data-quality checks, anomaly detection and rule-based validations using Python, SQL, ETL and data engineering and orchestration frameworks, with appropriate version control and API integration.
· Develop and govern central monitoring and management-information solutions using Power BI, Tableau or custom portals to provide timely visibility of data-pipeline health, control performance, KPIs and KRIs.
· Act as the senior Data Steward and primary liaison for compliance data issues, leading incident triage, root-cause analysis, stakeholder communication and escalation through ServiceNow, Jira and relevant technology teams.
· Partner with Compliance, Business, Technology and Data Office stakeholders to assess needs, challenge existing processes and deliver automation or control enhancements that improve efficiency, effectiveness and operational resilience.
· Engage with multiple stakeholders across teams (e.g. Data Analysis, reporting, Tool Development (Python, PowerBI, Sharepoint), TM Optimization and data governance and ensure there is cohesiveness in team structure, KPI reporting, Performance management and escalation management
· Lead delivery through the full change lifecycle, including requirements, solution design, UAT coordination, deployment, transition to BAU and readiness for regulatory assessments, certifications and internal or external audits.
· Influence senior stakeholders through clear executive messaging, concise one-page updates and committee reporting that articulate risk, business impact, decisions, progress, issue resolution and measurable outcomes.

· Promote a strong compliance and risk-aware culture, ensuring assigned initiatives remain aligned with regulatory expectations, organisational standards and agreed priorities.
· Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, local management and cross-functional stakeholders by setting clear expectations and maintaining alignment on scope, timelines and deliverables.
· Provide accurate and timely management reporting on progress, KPIs, risks, dependencies and actions, ensuring transparency and continuity against agreed service commitments.
· Proactively identify and escalate challenges, bottlenecks and delivery risks to relevant management, coordinating stakeholders to drive timely decisions and resolution.
· Produce clear, fit-for-purpose project and operational documentation, including BRD, solution designs, procedures, workflows, status updates and executive presentations.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Advanced analytical and investigative skills; analyses complete datasets and recommends tactical and strategic solutions.
- Strong hands-on capability in Python, SQL, ETL processing, API integration and version-control practices; experience with Power BI and platforms such as Dataiku or Domino is highly desirable. Exposure to Git,
- Strong understanding of data quality concepts (i.e. data controls, data profiling, data lineage) and experience managing data issues.
- Dashboarding expertise (Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong project and delivery-management capabilities, with experience using Jira or equivalent tools for planning, tracking and issue management
- Proven people-leadership capability, including performance management, talent development, pipeline management, capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with other Function staff and management.
Good to have
· Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Exposure to Dataiku, Agile delivery methods or version-control practices, Tableau, is desirable.
- Experience in AML/CTF across Global Banking, Global Markets, sanctions or payments, including the definition and monitoring of relevant KPIs and KRIs
- Previous experience within Compliance, Financial Security or a regulated financial-services environment is advantageous
Specific Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelors degree.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, preferably within a Compliance set up or financial institution environment.
