SENIOR ANALYST IN OPTIMIZATION & TUNING
Main responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst in Optimization and Tuning in the Brazil Financial Security Transaction Monitoring department is responsible for executing tasks across the business lines interacting with Paris and Americas (US, Canada, and LatAm). These tasks include improvements in anti-money laundering and market abuse controls through statistical and mathematical analyses for model (re)calibration, risk analysis, sensitivity, and productivity, including Actimize-based AML monitoring models and other AML, KYC, and Sanctions systems as needed. This position requires engaging with diverse Business groups (Compliance, Business, etc.) and Technology groups to deliver solutions for Financial Compliance and Regulatory Reporting needs.
Responsibilities in detail:
Experience with statistical modeling and data visualization tools like R and PowerBI, this last including knowledge in DAX and PowerM
- Assist the Compliance area in studying, creating, monitoring, and optimizing existing models, rules, and scenarios for AML and Surveillance systems, adjusting, calibration, and validation.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to anti-money laundering and market abuse controls by conducting statistical and mathematical analyses for model recalibration, risk assessment, sensitivity, and productivity
- Automate processes, create, and maintain reports and indicators (KPIs, KRIs) in IB Officer (PowerBI), investigate incidents and results identified in Compliance and AML monitoring systems, and track the productivity of rules and models.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infrastructure projects related to Compliance systems, new AML monitoring rules and models, and periodically maintain and review existing rules. This includes evaluating cases to determine if new products or operations (TAC/NAC) may affect the Compliance infrastructure and require rule creation or modification.
- Actively participate in the implementation of rules and models (new and existing) in a test environment (UAT) and simulate rule behavior using R, PowerBI, or Python.
Collect, analyze, and generate data for operation investigations, providing necessary analyses and information for evaluating specific control scenarios. - Coordinate and interact with Financial Security, IT FS, and IT OPTI teams in the US and Paris for the implementation, migration, and/or modification of AML systems, rules, and parameters.
- Incorporate global and regulatory guidelines into local activities whenever necessary.
- Continuously evaluate and challenge activities performed by the first line of defense (business areas).
Position Requirements:
- Experience with statistical modeling and data visualization tools like R and PowerBI, this last including knowledge in DAX and PowerM
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Analytical, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders, including IT and senior management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently research and resolve issues while collaborating across teams to gather necessary information.
- Self-sufficiency in SQL (functions, procedures, and packages)
- Advanced English
- PQO Compliance Certification
- Spanish is a plus
- ACAMS certification is a plus
- Good understanding of AML processes and relevant regulatory issues is a plus
- Experience with AML transaction monitoring tools like Actimize is a plus
