About the team
Your team belongs to the BNP Paribas RISK Function (5 500+ employees in 50+ countries), recognized for its excellence among its peers. RISK is an integrated and independent function, it covers financial and non-financial risks of the Bank (credit, market, liquidity, operational, ESG risks). RISK is part of the control functions but is also a partner for Business Lines and helps them sustainably growing.
Within RISK, the RISK Models & Regulatory designs “internal” models (used for both risk management and capital requirements measurements) and ensures their performance over time, while playing a watch tower role regarding regulatory changes.
Inside RISK Models & Regulatory, the Models Portfolio Management team (‘MOMA’) plays a key role as it facilitates Top Management decision regarding the Modelling Trajectory:
Analyze the cost-benefit equilibrium of Internal Ratings-Based Approach (IRBA) use, for which an up-to-date IRBA models inventory is key
Build a model-related trajectory of capital requirements, monitors the impacts for all Entities of the Bank and ensure a consistent and common vision between Finance and RISK
Contribute to the design and maintenance of simulation tools
Interface with modeling and back testing teams to deploy risk strategies based on new models to improve effectiveness of the model deployment
Ensure that new models are swiftly and efficiently inserted in the bank’s credit processes
Contribute to strategic projects related to credit risk models triggered by either new regulatory requirements or new business needs

About the job

You like statistical, econometric, and probabilistic models, and you would like to contribute to the prediction of the risks taken by the bank? You are interested in credit risk models?
As a Risk Modeling Project Manager, you will join a dynamic ecosystem of more than 100 teammates responsible for the design and performance over time of the BNP Paribas Group’s credit risk internal models (PD, LGD, LGDD & EAD) while playing a watch tower role regarding regulatory changes.
Inside this ecosystem, you will be part of the Models Portfolio Management team (15 teammates) responsible for the design and implementation of the 5-year modelling roadmap validated by the Top Management of the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Translate this 5-year modelling roadmap into concrete transversal projects focused on a list of models
  • Mobilize various teams (model developers, back-testers, Business Lines stakeholders) from different entities of the Bank around a common objective
  • Participate in the definition of a homogeneous methodological framework for modelling purposes and ensure its dissemination
  • Produce specific analysis for the Senior Management of the bank or Supervisors
  • Manage the budget associated to the projects you will manage, including the costs of potential external resources hired when necessary

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s Degree with a specialization in finance, risk, data science, statistics, or economics
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of the banking regulation, especially on credit risk
  • First experience in project management
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in written
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Adaptability / Autonomy
  • Team player
