Business area

Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.

UK Client Delivery comprises of a number of teams and functions covering Operations and Business Change. Operations include Investment and Fund Services Operations (IFSO), Banking and Securities Services (BSO), Loan Solutions UK, Depositary Fiduciary Services (DFS), Change & Transformation (C&T) and Risk and Controls. The primary objective of these combined teams is the execution of our operational business to create service excellence.

Job purpose 

This role will sit within a client-facing transformational Programme, the delivery of which is managed in the Change & Transformation Department in the UK along with international stakeholders.

The purpose of the role is to provide Programme Management for a significant client-facing Programme, working closely with the Global Programme Director, project managers and internal stakeholders.

The programme spans the UK, US, Europe, APAC and Australia and involves a large number of workstreams – data migration, platform configuration, integration, testing, change  management, and post go live support.

Due to the of the scale and complexity of the transformation, a strong, disciplined governance is essential to deliver the expected financial, risk  and operational efficiencies while protecting BNP Paribas’ interests throughout the transition

This is a large global and complex transformational Programme for a key strategic client which will require strong governance, robust reporting and financial management.  

Purpose of the position:

  • To act as the figure head of the programme being led, ensuring the project delivers the agreed scope, time and budget 
  • Drive through programme management delivery and execution in a way that protects BNPP interests
  • Build positive relationships with all key stakeholders internally and at the client. 
  • Deliver the large complex programme, leading by example.  This is a hands-on role.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and deliver assigned Programme, ensuring adherence to group and local standards, following best practice approach and control environment.
  • A strong governance framework is critical to support this programme – with strong escalation protocol and feeding into the global programme
  • Mobilise strategic projects by supporting the sponsor in completing business cases to be presented at the relevant internal forums (eg PPB) for approval. Interact with all key contributors (Ops. IT etc) to secure required resource. Ensure all internal approvals (BAC etc) have been obtained.
  • Create and define the project’s scope, objectives and deliverables for approval by all internal and external stakeholders, and guide the execution
  • Set and implement the projects governance, relevant to its size and complexity. Lead the working group and steering group meetings, influencing key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Lead the project jointly with clients, developing and maintaining productive working relationships and managing the communication with day-to-day client contacts, and other stakeholders.
  • Preparing realistic project and quality plans and tracking activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate. 
  • Set and track the project budget and resource allocation and flag any variances for attention. 
  • Ensure alignment to client plans, and strong engagement with client and other third parties is critical
  • Support of client due diligence
  • Support identification and tracking of project risks, actions, issues and dependencies 
  • Managing the scope of a project via a defined change control process to ensure project deliverables are realised within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets
  • Ensuring that projects are formally closed, subsequently reviewed via PIR (where appropriate) and that lessons learned are recorded and related actions closed.
  • Facilitate regular Steering Committees and implement related dashboard / reporting
  • Ensure service models and operational readiness is in place post-migration
  • Respect HR and Finance guidelines on the utilisation of external versus internal staff
  • Be ready to react quickly to any new items arising in the programme or connected to it and develop the necessary contingency plans.

Requirements

Essential

  • Significant demonstrable Programme Management experience in a similar organisation supporting complex Project activities at programme level
  • Proven ability to implement & run global governance structures (steering committees, RAID, KPI dashboards)
  • Client and third party management at a senior level 
  • Management of risks, issues, actions and dependencies 
  • Leading a team of Project Managers across IT, Ops & Data & Migration readiness activities
  • Strong client stakeholder influencing skills at a senior level
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication (written; verbal & listening) with ability to produce concise executive level artefacts
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fluid environment.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis at programme level.
  • Structured and organised approach with strong attention to detail and high-quality deliverables
  • Status reporting implementation and facilitation 
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle
  • Proficient in the use of standard project planning and measurement tools
  • Excellent people skills across all levels of the organisation and the ability to coach and challenge others
  • Ability to deal with teams in multiple locations and time zones, balancing workload to ensure delivery of key tasks to meet time zone requirements
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products to a high standard, including MS Project, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and SharePoint 
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and balance workload accordingly

Desirable:

  • Prior client facing experience on transformation programmes 
  • Migration experience of Middle Office activities 
  • Understanding of impacts to Fund accounting from a project perspective
  • SharePoint (or similar) administration & Power BI
