OPC Expert

What is the role?
In order to mitigate operational risks within BNP Paribas’ branches operating in CE (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania), we are looking for a Regional OPC expert physically present in Hungary, Budapest. The role would be reporting to Team Leader of Function or Business Controls Team and CE Head of Operational Permanent Control.
OPC CE team is responsible for mitigation of operational risks within the 1st line of defence (LOD1) by the following activities:
- design and maintenance of functions and business related Local Control Plan
- monitoring of control execution of the entire Local Control Plan
- Following the Group methodologies, performing annual Risk Control Self Assessment exercise
- In cooperation with OPC teams, LOD2 and other functions, prepare and steer the branches’ Internal Control Committees
- Provide support in external and internal audit missions, follow-up of recommendations
- Cascade group policies into local practices.
What qualities do we look for?
- 5+ years of of professional experience in banking / financial industry sector.
- Fluent in English and Hungarian.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
- Experience or good oversight in Asset-Liability Management processes, Custody Business (Security Services), or internal audit is a very strong advantage
- Advanced knowledge and command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Data analysis skills are an advantage.
- Good approach in investigating the details, and ability to have overall view of matters at hand.
- Ability to handle complexity, work in a team and individually.
Key Responsibilities of the role
With the support and supervision of the Functions controls team leader, the regional OPC expert will be responsible for:
- Perform and document controls related to functions of BNPP CE branches, – following Group methodologies
- Contribute to perform the monitoring of control execution of operations and Shared Service Teams
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports designated for operations and regional management teams
- Active support of the preparation of Internal Control Committees of the region
- Actively participate in the Group driven Risk Control Self Assessment exercise for the functions of the branch
- Contribute to the maintenance of the branches Local Control Plans
- Management of policies and procedures
- Liaise actively with OPC team members, BNP Paribas branches’ stakeholders and Head Office colleagues, subject matter experts.
