  • The Procure to Pay Trainee role is a structured learning position designed to build foundational knowledge and practical skills in end‑to‑end procure‑to‑pay (P2P) processes within BNP Paribas’ Middle Office. Under close mentorship and supervision, the Trainee supports team operations while developing competence in supplier data management, onboarding, invoice processing, and compliance. This role emphasizes learning over operational ownership, all transaction execution occurs under direct supervision with mandatory mentor validation, to prepare the individual for progression to a Procure to Pay Analyst role. All activities align with BNP Paribas standards, regulatory requirements, and supplier‑experience targets

Your Main Activities Are

  • Complete mandatory BNP Paribas P2P Middle Office (MO) induction training within the first 4 weeks
  • Participate in structured shadowing (2–3 days per domain) across all P2P MO areas: OSR, Global Master Data, Purchasing Middle Office, Invoice Quality Control, Servicing Resolution, and Supplier Relationship. Document observations in a learning journal focusing on workflows, decision points, and compliance touchpoints.
  • Complete e learning modules on BNP Paribas P2P policies. Practice skills received during the training under mentor guidance
  • Meet weekly with an assigned mentor (Analyst or Team Leader) to review progress, discuss challenges, and update a competency tracker covering technical skills, process knowledge, and behavioural skills. Target: Achieve "Supported Proficiency" in core Analyst tasks by month 3
  • Assist with low complexity transactions only under direct mentor supervision (mentor observes screen or reviews work before any system action): Invoice Processing Support (Invoice Quality Control/Servicing): Match low value invoices (<€1k) POs/GRs for obvious discrepancies (e.g., quantity/price) with mentor oversight; assist in resolving simple queries (e.g., remittance advice status) after mentor confirms retrieval path; prepare basic analytical extracts using guided Excel templates
  • Execute all transactions within dual control/supervised environments
  • Immediately report discrepancies, missing documents, or compliance concerns to mentor, never assume resolution
  • Maintain a transaction log detailing: task performed, documents reviewed, mentor providing guidance, time taken, and questions/observations for learning
  • Ensures data quality control for invoice integration to certify documents comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management or other related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack
  • Comfortable with ERP system application
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with flexible schedules and with international locations
