Role:
BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking (‘CIB’) is a major participant in consulting and capital markets as well as financing for its clients. CIB’s main objective is to accompany its clients in the long term and support their strategy, while handling their financing and risk management.
Securities Services as a business line within CIB is the leading European custodian, specialized in custody and fund administration for financial intermediaries, asset managers and corporates. These client segments are reflected in the company’s organization by client lines: asset managers, asset owners, alternatives and financial institution & corporates. We are physically present in 21 countries around the world and currently have in excess of 10,000 employees.
A key area of continued growth for Securities Services is in the servicing of Exchange Traded Funds (hereafter ‘ETFs’). We anticipate asset managers will continue to focus on developing ETF products to meet market demands and in tandem with this we are looking to develop our services to be able to offer a unique, efficient and scalable platform and solutions for servicing the ETF ecosystem.
The ETF Solutions team is attached to the asset manager Client Line, with a structured governance for the project so that all teams and workstreams feed into the Global ETF Program structure. This allows for a collaborative working environment and ensures a transparent flow of information through the various teams.
The Product Specialist will be 100% dedicated to the BP2S Global ETF Pprogram and its delivery for the European market will be their primary focus. We are looking for a Product Specialist to provide expertise on the local needs of the ETF market in the international fund servicing centeres. They will work with various teams focused on developing and implementing client strategy, market evolution/analysis, delivery of our ETF platform, implementation of a European target operating model and the end client user experience (client, asset manager and authorised participants).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an ETF product development plan and be a key member of the go to market strategy
- Be a key stakeholder in the application for annual budget requirements in the segment
- Work with other teams as part of the BNP Paribas ‘one bank’ model
- Be a subject matter expert for ETFs for both internal and external purposes
- Help guide the ETF program in BNP Paribas and create required documentation to support its efforts
- Create a European ETF strategy in coordination with Client Development and Client Delivery
- Provide regular updates to internal senior stakeholders on the ETF market and the program’s progress
- Lead our ETF strategy for external client and market specialists presentations and RFP responses for the European market
- Effective communication on behalf of the business line to other parts of the organization for what is required and be proactive in ensuring the product quality remains at the highest level to support our ETF Strategy.
- Provide expertise and input into both European and Global target operating models. This includes collaborating with global custody, fund administration, transfer agency and depositary operational and product specialist teams.
- Define, review and refine business requirements that meet the needs of the European market.
- Development of best practices and standards for the European market
- Identify product changes and adjustments and opportunities based upon user and market feedback
- Monitor industry trends and provide regular updates of changes in the European market
- Collaborate with other stakeholders within the ETF program team
- Develop relationships and credibility with other participants of the external ETF ecosystem
Expected deliverables
- Creation of European ETF Product Development Roadmap
- Creation of documents required for the ETF Program, including input for internal executive presentations and organizational governance
- Detailed workflows for key ETF topics such as the ICSD model
- Product vision and objectives in the European market
- Develop detailed service requirements and specifications to be used by client delivery and IT
- ETF knowledge sharing documentation and training materials
- Ongoing market analysis including updates on ETF Issuer trends, regulatory changes, and future product developments
- Materials for client presentations and active participation in industry events
Qualifications & Experience required for this role:
- Minimum seven years experience working with ETFs at a servicing agent or ETF Issuer
- Proven track record in delivery of product innovation and solutions in the ETF segment
- Self- starter and proven ability to work autonomously as part of a multi-location team
- Ability to match market developments and prioritization of ETF initiatives and budget allocation
- Deep knowledge of the European ETF and regulatory environment
- Team spirit and excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
