Job Title: Data Management Analyst – Financial Sponsors

About Business line/Function: 

Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) is a department in charge of the relationship management of key Financial Institutions, building long-term relationships and promoting the full portfolio of Business solutions BNPP can offer. 

Within FIC, the Institutional Credit Analyst Team (ICAT) is a key domain of the first line of defense of the Bank, in charge of the assessment of Institutional clients’ credit profile and recommendation to delegation holders of credit authorizations. 

The team covers all type of Financial Institutions: Banks, Insurances, Sovereign, Brokers, other non-banks financial institutions, pensions funds, funds, hedge funds, regulated funds, funds of hedge funds, agency arrangements and asset managers.  

Position Purpose: 

The Data Management Analyst will be actively contributing to the credit process and risk monitoring of Private Equity and Private Credit focused clients worldwide, in tight collaboration with Credit Teams and RISK MFI in the regions.  

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities

1.             Oversee Credit Submission Process for Fund Finance Activity 

ü  Facilitate for the Fund Finance Group a smooth and timely process for working through credit approvals on a large and active book of new and amending loans to Private Equity and Private Credit Funds

ü  Attend Credit Committees and summarize proposals for Risk Delegation holders to form the basis of Credit Committee minutes

ü  Work with the Fund Finance Group to understand drivers of risk rating models and client attributes to ensure accurate processing in the firm’s official risk systems

ü  Ensure proper delegation for credit approvals is obtained and all internal deal requirements are satisfied     

ü  Develop tools and refine approaches to enable swift decisions and accurate recording of deal terms in a fast paced and growing business line

2.             Portfolio Analysis for the Business Development Corporation (“BDC”) portfolio

ü  Assist senior analysts in ongoing financial analysis of a high profile portfolio of loan facilities to the BDC sector

ü  Work on ad hoc requests for information and quarterly reports prepared for senior management to monitor the health of the portfolio

ü  Assist the team in teaching AI and LLM tools to extract key metrics and industry commentary across a large portfolio to enable quicker response times 

ü  Help structure and organize data coming out of a 3rd party vendor tool to facilitate peer comparisons and portfolio deep dives

3.             Exposure Management and Projects to Improve Portfolio Management Capabilities

ü  Take a leading role for the team in managing credit exposures day to day on trading activity, including identifying limit breaches, processing changes to trading lines to accommodate activity and closing excesses in the official excess management dashboard

ü  Work on various data projects to build out the team’s tool kit around different portfolios of lending and trading activities, key legal terms, peer comparisons and other initiatives to help us respond quickly to requests from internal and external stakeholders

Specific Qualifications:

Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Financial Markets or other relevant areas. 

At least 2 years experience in a similar function
