About BNP Paribas Advisory Netherlands

BNP Paribas is strongly anchored in the Dutch market with our activities in the Netherlands dating back to 1863. As a global full-service bank with the #1 European Investment Banking franchise, we strive to be the first choice for all of our clients’ financial needs. The growing Advisory Netherlands team consists of approx. 10 bankers and is responsible for the origination and execution of Mergers & Acquisitions, supported by a pan-European platform of 400+ bankers across Advisory teams and Industry Groups.

Your new role

  • Advising large corporate clients and financial sponsors on M&A (incl. ECM) processes, playing a critical role in driving the day-to-day execution of M&A mandates forward
  • Contribute to the origination of M&A mandates and the broader strategic client dialogues, in close collaboration with Industry Groups across EMEA as well as local Coverage teams and product partners (such as Leveraged Finance and ECM)

Your responsibilities

  • Leading the day-to-day execution of M&A mandates end-to-end — running the deal team, owning the quality and integrity of client deliverables (presentations, models/valuation, marketing materials), and managing workstreams to timeline with appropriate D/MD oversight
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients and counterparties throughout live processes, coordinating closely with Industry Groups, Coverage and product partners and directing external advisers (a.o. legal, tax, accounting)
  • Contributing actively to origination and client development — helping shape strategic ideas, marketing materials and efforts, and supporting the building and deepening of long-term client relationships in close collaboration with Coverage and Industry Groups
  • Managing, mentoring and developing the junior team — overseeing the work of associates and analysts, providing guidance and feedback, and contributing to overall training and development

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work on highly visible sell- and buy-side M&A for blue-chip clients in the Netherlands and beyond, leveraging BNP Paribas’ global investment banking platform
  • Become part of an ambitious and growing team of motivated individuals, collaborating closely with Industry Groups, Coverage and product partners across BNP Paribas’ EMEA platform
  • Participation in BNP Paribas’ structured training and development program (IB Academy)
  • Work from our newly developed headquarters that was designed to meet the highest sustainability standards in the Netherlands, conveniently located at the Zuidas in Amsterdam
  • A competitive remuneration package (base salary + bonus)

 Who you are

  • You have approximately 6-8 years of investment banking (M&A) experience within a bank or advisory boutique, with a demonstrated track record of leading the execution and contributing to the origination of M&A transactions
  • Strong M&A project leadership — able to run multiple live processes in parallel, direct a deal team, and take full ownership of transaction execution and client deliverables
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills — able to distil key messages into crisp, well-substantiated materials and to represent the team credibly with clients and further stakeholders
  • Ability to review, quality-control and guide complex financial modelling and valuation work (DCF, LBO, multiples, merger models) with the seniority to steer these workstreams rather than solely build them
  • Full professional proficiency in Dutch language is a requirement
  • Proven ability to mentor, develop and manage associates and analysts
