About the job
- Present in Lisbon and Porto the Global Markets Operational and Permanent Control (GM OPC) teams works to safeguard business operations by identifying risks, analyzing past incidents, and strengthening controls. Working closely with traders, managers, and risk teams to build reports, track key risk indicators, and drive continuous improvement, all the while ensuring compliance with global standards
Your Main Activities Are
- Risk Analysis (help protect profits by studying past incidents, identify risks in Front Office processes and suggest fixes and
review control results and perform detailed checks)
- Business Activity Monitoring (track and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and action plans; follow up on internal/external recommendations, such as audits and regulations; engage stakeholders, namely chase updates and clarify requirements
and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing sessions)
- Reporting (create dashboards/reports for internal and external stakeholders; analyze trends, weekly, monthly and quarterly, and flag issues and improve reporting with automation/digital tools where possible)
- Governance and Tools (ensure data input and quality check; contribute to the governance and other initiatives; prepare materials for and participate in business committees and ad-hoc analysis for set deadlines)
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s degree from reputable university
- Fluency in English, both written and oral
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, or a front-office risk or control role, and other positions like Audit, Compliance and Risk
- Strong analytical skills with a critical mindset to evaluate risks and propose actionable solutions
- Advanced Excel and VBA knowledge
- Ability to be Proactive and autonomous, but also a team player able to work with others
About the Team
The team set-up faces increasing Regulatory and Conduct demands beyond pure Operational Risk. As part of Strategy Conduct and Risk (SCR), GM OPC operates over the 3 main regions, through the three following practices:
- Regulatory Practice, that consists on the Support regulatory requirements using a sustainable framework that is aligned with our governance, control plan, and risk assessment.
- Conduct Practice, meaning Assess and challenge the effectiveness of the Conduct Control set up while ensuring full convergence between involved teams.
- Operational Risk Practice, that consists on the Contribute to protect the business such as Profit and Loss (P&L) and reputation.
