Job Title: Network Engineer (Assistant Manager)

Department: CIB ITO - Production - Domain - Infrastructure - Telecom & Data

About Business line/Function: CIB

Position Purpose: The main activities of the Senior Network Engineer are to manage, maintain, implement, and promote secure, robust, stable, redundant, Network infrastructure. Explore, evaluate, and propose latest technologies in network domain. BAU for operational activities, any critical incident or task.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

This position will mainly do configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Cisco-based network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and collaboration tools.

  • Provide day-to-day support and project implementation on network infrastructure
  • Manage the network infrastructure aspects related to power shutdowns in Data centers and technical rooms, disaster recovery exercises and any other activities affecting the health of the network infrastructures
  • Provide network design, solution deployment, and technical documentation for network related equipment such as routers, switches, wireless etc.
  • Prepares the regional budget for the support and maintenance of the network infrastructure area ensuring aggressive negotiations, cost-effective solutions and management of the IT spend.
  • Build and lead a regional team  
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive reports/updates to stakeholders whenever network incidents occur.
  • Must build a strong relationship with our internal stakeholders and with vendors.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Must have at least 5-10 years of experience in the following:

  • Expertise in connectivity and HFT network infrastructure design, implementation and support (CCIE is a strong ‘plus)
  • Experience with Equity and high-frequency trading (HFT) infrastructure is preferred
  • Experience in Cisco Device Management. (1) Configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers (ISR, ASR), switches (Catalyst, Nexus), and firewalls (2) Deploy and manage Cisco DNA Center for network automation and assurance. (3) Implement VLANs, trunking, STP, and EtherChannel for optimal traffic flow.
  • For network Security & Compliance. Candidate must be knowledgeable in configuring Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for network access control (802.1X, MAB). Also, enforcing ACLs, NAT, and VPN (IPsec, AnyConnect) for secure remote access.
  • Must have background in Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting by using Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, or Wireshark for network monitoring. Troubleshooting OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and HSRP routing issues.
  • For Cisco Wireless infra, candidate must know how to manage Cisco Access-points or Catalyst wireless controllers for Wi-Fi optimization.
  • Backup, Recovery & Documentation: maintenance of Cisco configuration backups (TFTP, FTP, or Cisco Prime), documentation of network diagrams, IP schemes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Specific Qualifications:

  • At least bachelor’s degree holder or alternative work experience in the field required,
  • Ideally with 5+ years of experience as Network Architect with focus on network related components i.e. Cisco, Juniper, etc.
  • Experience on Automating daily network tasks using scripting (Python) is a big plus.
  • Client-oriented, strong communication and organization skills
  • Expertise in PMI methodology
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work under pressure

Certifications:

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) (required).
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) (preferred).

Technical Expertise:

  • Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS command-line configuration.
  • Cisco SD-WAN, and DNA Center.
  • Network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, QoS).

Education Level: 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
