Role Purpose
Lead the Asia regional agenda for Data, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, translating Group and Cardif strategies into a coordinated regional roadmap. The role ensures trusted and compliant use of data and AI, accelerates value creation, and builds the governance, capabilities and culture required for sustainable transformation across the Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the regional data strategy in alignment with the Cardif Data Office strategy, Group requirements, local regulations and business priorities.
- Establish and oversee data governance, including ownership, quality, integrity, lineage, privacy, protection and remediation of material data issues.
- Coordinate and challenge country data priorities, roadmaps and investments, and consolidate regional progress, risks and dependencies.
- Lead the Asia AI strategy and portfolio, ensuring that use cases are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable value, service improvement or efficiency gains.
- Implement AI governance across the lifecycle, including use-case intake, risk assessment, validation, responsible AI requirements, monitoring and escalation.
- Develop AI and analytics capabilities by promoting reusable solutions, knowledge sharing, targeted training and adoption across business, operations and technology teams.
- Lead regional innovation governance and maintain a transparent pipeline of ideas, proofs of concept and scale-up opportunities.
- Structure and pilot proofs of concept with business teams, local entities, Group functions and external partners, with clear success criteria and decisions to stop, adapt or scale.
- Ensure local and regional innovation initiatives are aligned with Cardif governance, architecture, security, compliance and investment frameworks.
- Build an active community of Data, AI and Innovation representatives across Asia and foster a strong culture of experimentation, accountability and value realization.
Key Outputs/Performance
- Approved regional Data, AI and Innovation roadmap with clear priorities, ownership, milestones, resources and dependencies.
- Effective governance forums and reporting covering portfolio status, value, risks, compliance, decisions and escalations.
- Measurable improvement in priority data-quality indicators, remediation plans and compliance with data privacy and protection requirements.
- Qualified AI and innovation pipeline with documented business cases, responsible AI assessments, delivery outcomes and benefits tracking.
- Successful transition of validated proofs of concept into sustainable, secure and scalable solutions, or timely closure where value is not demonstrated.
- Improved adoption and capability through communities, communication, training and change-management actions.
- Strong collaboration with country leadership, Regional COO, Cardif CDO, Cardif Chief AI Officer, business, compliance, risk, security and technology stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Significant leadership experience in Data, AI, Analytics, Digital Transformation or Innovation, ideally in insurance, banking or another regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience defining strategies and delivering multi-entity or regional transformation roadmaps.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, privacy and protection, and practical experience operating within regulatory and risk-management frameworks.
- Experience governing and delivering AI or advanced analytics use cases from ideation through industrialization and adoption.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and drive outcomes in a matrix organization without relying solely on direct authority.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage.
