Job Description:
The Senior Software Developer that joins the team will take a hands-on software development and engineering role for various components of the Electronic Equities trading platform across functional and non-functional domains. The software developer will focus on Low Latency Market and Client connectivity components involving trading protocols and risk checks. These components operate in low-latency regime with high throughput requirements; hence performance and capacity testing are critical for systems stability.
Direct Responsibilities
Design, Development, Maintenance:
Design software applications, systems, and tools
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
Develop software solutions that meet business requirements and user needs
Maintain and update existing software applications, systems, and tools
Refactor code to improve performance, readability, and maintainability
Testing and Debugging:
Identify and fix bugs, errors, and defects
Design and implement high-quality unit tests to ensure code reliability, maintainability and performance.
Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure quality and functionality
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Required competencies
7+ years coding with C++ in a professional Linux environment on trading systems.
A track record of excellent communication skills working with business partners and other developers.
Experience of working in a robust technology environment with a clear appreciation of software development best practices and change control procedures.
Understanding of market microstructure in Equity markets is preferred but not essential.
Relevant education such as a BSc / MSc / PhD in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Finance, Maths, Physics, Econometrics, Engineering, or the equivalent work experience or qualifications
