Job Title: ISPL Head of Corporate Credit IT

Department: Banking Platform IT

About Business line/Function: 

Corporate Credits at BNP Paribas CIB is the bank’s dedicated platform for delivering large scale, customized financing solutions to corporates and institutions worldwide. It combines deep sector expertise, a robust risk framework, and a global syndication network to support M&A, project development, working capital needs, and other strategic financing objectives. Current strategic focus is on sustainable finance, digital transformation, and expanding in high growth regions while preserving credit quality and delivering strong, client centric results.

Provides structured financing, revolving facilities, term loans, and syndications to large corporates, financial institutions, and public sector entities worldwide.

Position Purpose: 

  • As Delivery lead, 
    1. Manage the Corporate Credit software delivery teams based in India to deliver expected IT functionality with stability & scalability.
    2. Managing a span of control of 100+ FTEs. 
    3. Responsible for relationship management with Business, Operations & IT sponsors in conjunction with global domain leads. 
    4. Lead transversal initiatives for the Banking Platform IT department beyond the domain, e.g. DevSecOps, Gen AI usage, Test Automation + Shift Left, Development methodology (Agile practices), Cloud native approach etc.
  • By being a part of the ISPL Banking Platform IT Executive Committee:
    1. Contribute & strengthen the management vision of the department.
    2. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Banking Platform IT ISPL and implementation of best practices.
    3. Lead by example and disseminate the management values & objectives for Banking Platform IT Leadership group to boost Banking Platform IT ISPL performance.
    4. Contribute to initiatives/collaboration across all domains of Banking Platform IT.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Vision in strategy: 

  • Key leadership role responsible for managing and driving the IT strategy, execution and delivery of technology and solutions, for Banking Platform IT
  • The successful candidate will ensure management of 100+ Corporate Credit IT professionals.
  • Transform, evolve, recruit, upskill and develop people to have mission ready and top-notch team at Banking IT, India CoE for Corporate Credit.
  • Will act as a key partner with business stakeholders to drive the overall Corporate Credit strategy. Must be very well versed with Corporate Credit business, its challenges and operational needs.
  • Build strong relationship with global and regional Business, IT & Ops leaders, in collaboration with different IOCs, to drive business successfully and to ensure consistency and alignment across systems.
  • Visualize business changes and create an IT/innovation mindset so that solutions are ready for the growth of business and are future ready. 

Delivery and operations: 

  • Overseeing delivery of high-quality, complex IT Programs for various products/instruments used by Credits business lines
  • Implement Agile methodologies to ensure efficiency in delivery operations.
  • Platform availability, scalability and performance – to support high transaction volumes.
  • Collaborate with Application Production Support to optimize production incidents resolutions.
  • Manage relationships with technology partners ensuring cost effective delivery of solutions.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance system architecture and solutions.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Budget management and cost optimization.
  • Continuous monitoring of performance & efficiency of the setup.
  • Identify opportunities for process and technologies improvement. 
  • Enable solutions and act as escalation point for Administrative & HR topics.
  • Provide support for business stakeholders & operations leadership. 

Risk and compliance: 

  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements.
  • Drive all the dimensions of IT risk management for the full scope of Credit assets.
  • Implement existing robust IT governance and reporting mechanisms to manage operational excellence.
  • Risk mitigation via implementation of technology obsolescence remediation.

Digital Transformation: 

  • Manage initiatives, which includes framing transformation programs
  • Design or transform IT assets with “Cloud Native” features.
  • Getting buy-in from stakeholders and contributors
  • Define the governance, secure capacity, and budget, build/consolidate and maintain the plan, manage dependencies and drive to completion, ensuring effective communication, continuous alignment of contributors and timely running of governance routines.

People Development:

  • Evolve (recruit, upskill, develop) teams to be at next level and work efficiently with partners in Paris & Poland teams.
  • Drive and manage people development initiatives in partnership with HR.
  • Responsible for mentorship and career growth of the in-scope employees.
  • Consulting point for Talent Acquisition & Technology solutions.
  • Further develop architectural / design skills within leveraging on in-sourced out-sourced staff. 

Contributing Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Credit domain knowledge to effectively discuss and strategize client and operation’s needs. 
  • Should be able to drive functional discussions with non-technical stakeholders
  • Technology validation & evolution.
  • Support & leadership to organizational initiatives.
  • Identify gaps in existing systems and create action-plans to plug those gaps rapidly.
  • Promote automation in all areas that helps to improve quality and faster delivery.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Candidate must be very familiar with Corporate Credit processes and functions, and must be able to effectively and efficiently discuss with business counterparts
  • Good knowledge of corporate banking products like Payments, Trade Finance, eBanking, Accounting systems is a big plus.
  • Expert in various project development methodologies (Agile-Scrum, Agile-Kanban, Waterfall etc)
  • In-depth understanding of tooling and engineering aspects of software development (DevOps Tools, Cloud technologies etc.) 
  • Must be able to collaborate with the development, test & production support team  
  • Good communication skills and excellent team player
  • Proven experience of managing large delivery teams (100+ FTE) 
  • Active Interest and Experience in AI techniques applied to Delivery and Deployment procedure would be a plus.
