Data Scientist (BA + Dev BI)
ABOUT THE JOB
Join our multidisciplinary team as a Data Scientist, driving innovation through a hybrid expertise in Business Analysis and BI Development. We are looking for a problem-solver who can navigate both the boardroom and the codebase, acting as the essential conduit between business objectives and technical execution.
In this role, you will go beyond simple reporting to design complex data processing tools and visualization products that empower our organization. Utilizing a powerful tech stack—including SQL, Python, Dataiku, and Cloud solutions—you will oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). From initial requirement gathering and user story elaboration to the deployment of AI-driven analytics, you will play a decisive role in shaping the future of our data landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Position is for a dual role with Business Analyst and Dev BI responsibilities. Preferably with Dev BI background and ability to get closer to the business as a business analyst.
- Contribute and coordinate the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated BI solutions.
- Integrate with the developed solutions to the BNP Paribas CIB ecosystem including referential, marketplace and DevSecOps Toolchain.
- Partnership with business stakeholders along with product owners to analyse complex processes and translate business needs into detailed functional specifications.
- Contributing to high-level roadmaps categorized by system components and development streams.
- Elaboration of the Users Stories and presentation to the development and testing teams.
- Acting as the interface between business stakeholders and the delivery team, presenting functional requirements, and resolving ambiguities to ensure seamless execution.
- Preparing comprehensive, high-quality documentation for both end-users and IT Support.
- Participation in the full rollout lifecycle, from strategic deployment planning to the delivery of user training.
PROFILE & SKILLS
- Experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably within a complex corporate or financial environment.
- Good presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to audiences of various sizes and levels of seniority.
- Experience in the design of data visualization products (preferably Power BI, including ability to build of DAX queries)
- A solid understanding of data architecture concepts, ability to perform complex data analysis and build data processing tools leveraging on AI tools.
- Strong skills in SQL development on main DB technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres.
- Some experience in development of ETL pipelines and some usage of Python.
- Strong capability in process analysis, synthesis, and the design of robust support systems.
- Some knowledge in terms of tools and tech such as Dataiku, Autosys, API and Cloud solutions.
- Understanding of the Scrum methodology and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Great interpersonal skills with team player mindset.
- High on problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
