Software Asset Management Team Leader

Join the newly created B‑INFINIT IT HUB in Warsaw & Kraków – the global centre of‑origin for BNP Paribas CIB’s software‑asset‑management (SAM) activities. You will work in a multicultural, English‑speaking environment that supports CIB businesses worldwide, collaborating with SAM teams across APAC, EMEA and the Americas. The role focuses on driving software‑compliance, optimizing license usage and industrialising SAM processes while leading a local team of IT professionals. Software Asset Management Team Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end data‑collection process for software inventories in close partnership with the Global SAM team.
  • Operate usage‑discovery tools (Snowstorm, ADDM, ILMT) and ensure accurate license‑count reporting.
  • Prepare, present and monitor IT‑license metrics, action‑plan progress and compliance dashboards.
  • Coordinate vendor inventory requests and audit responses across the CIB footprint.
  • Advise IT managers on software‑optimisation opportunities and track implementation of recommended actions.
  • Contribute to the design of software deployment and de‑commissioning strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement of data‑collection methods and overall SAM data quality.
  • Maintain the “Golden Source” repository and oversee SAM‑specific data stores.
  • Produce regular SAM reports in collaboration with the Global SAM team.
  • Support the development of automation tools (e.g., Python scripts) to streamline SAM processes.
  • Manage, coach and develop the local SAM team in Warsaw and Kraków.

Requirements:

  • SAM expertise: > 3 years of experience managing software‑asset‑management activities; deep knowledge of software metrics for SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, Red Hat, etc.
  • Leadership: Minimum 3 years of team‑management experience; strong people‑leadership, empathy and solution‑orientation.
  • Technical skills: Proficient with data‑collection tools, Excel/Power Query and basic scripting (Python or similar).
  • Contract & compliance analysis: Ability to read software contracts, identify compliance risks and propose mitigations.
  • Business & financial acumen: Experience in risk monitoring, cost optimisation and audit‑trail management.
  • IT knowledge: Familiarity with desktop/server environments, virtualization, clustering and asset‑management concepts.
  • Analytical & communication skills: Solid judgment, strong analytical abilities and the capacity to negotiate and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Language: Fluent written and spoken English (B2/C1).
  • Education & certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; CSAM certification; ITIL Foundation (desired).
