About Business line/Function:
Position Purpose: The APAC FRS team member will be responsible for managing reporting applications using different BI technologies like Power BI in ISPL in close coordination with global application management teams, provide expert support, mitigate & resolve issues, development & maintenance.
Establish work processes and ensure compliance to meet organizational objectives around delivery, agility, control & efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop understanding of system architecture and software on database infrastructure
- Convert business requirements into detail system design and Power BI deliverables
- Ensure Power BI solutions fit cleanly within the overall data‑mart design
- Analyze functional specifications, produce effort estimates and validate feasibility with stakeholders
- Perform data-analysis task (exploratory analysis, ad‑hoc queries, statistical insights) to support business decisions
- Optimize DAX expressions, Power BI model calculations, and visual performance
- Tune and optimize SQL queries, and stored procedures to ensure fast data retrieval for BI reports
- Coordinate multiple projects and teams across the global Business Intelligence setup
- Establish & enforce processes, work‑practice standards, and governance to ensure on‑time delivery
- Engage directly with business clients to uncover operational objectives, provide oversight, and manage expectations
- Oversee team activities, conduct performance reviews, and ensure quality of work
- Manage capacity planning, hiring, work allocation, skill‑evaluation, training, coaching and career development
- Produce and maintain management‑level reports, dashboards and governance artefacts
- Conduct regular governance reviews, performance analysis, and risk assessments
- Drive scope expansion, refinement, and optimization of BI solutions
- Identify, evaluate and implement improvement opportunities for the data‑mart ecosystem.
- Assess, develop options & execute action plans to continue delivery meeting the evolving changes and demands.
- Act in expert or crisis mode to resolve critical issues, roadblocks or performance bottlenecks.
- Develop and execute action plans to restore delivery and maintain service levels
Contributing Responsibilities
- Manage enhancement and update schedules for the BI applications
- Collaborate across ISPL FRESH and Finance teams
- Take pro-active steps to bring about a reduction in the number of incidents and defects in the overall development cycle
- Provide L3 critical support for incident and project support on project needs
· Set-up processes and ensure compliance with OPC, Risk Management, Quality requirements
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
The techno-functional manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of Business Intelligence Solutions using Power-BI, and SQL Servers to support CIB Finance.
· Propose and develop solutions using Power-BI as the primary visualization tool, and Cubes and Databases for acquisition, storage and processing needs.
· Primary Skills:
o Power BI (Data‑model design and DAX optimization)
o Oracle SQL (Data-Analytic and Optimization)
- Secondary Skills:
- Tableau would be beneficial (not mandatory)
- Python would be beneficial (not mandatory)
Specific Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent
5 + years’ experience required
