About the Job 

  • The Client Asset Protection (CASS) Coordinator is responsible of assisting the relevant SMF (Senior Management Function) and SHF (Senior Harm Function) in discharging their duties. Within the course of Prime Brokerage activities, BNP Paribas London Branch is subject to UK Client Asset Protection (CASS) and AMF custody rules (derived from MiFID)
  • The CASS Coordinator reports functionally to the SHF responsible for CASS and locally to specific reporting line

Your Main Activities Are

  • Governance (management information and reporting)
    1. Prepare, organize and minute the monthly oversight committees
    2. Update key governance documents (e.g., CASS Resolution Pack) in a timely manner and ensure appropriate controls are in place to be made aware of necessary changes
    3. Periodically update the regulatory control plans (e.g., CASS risk framework) with the relevant internal functions
    4. Assist with the review all relevant policies, procedures and terms of reference periodically
    5. Validate the CMAR report or equivalent on a monthly basis
    6. Maintain the CASS SharePoint intranet site
  • Controls Oversight
    1. Review the daily breaks reports and follow up on any potential incidents with Operations and relevant internal partners; escalate potential breaches in a timely manner as per the incident escalation procedure
    2. Ensure that the CASS incident log is up-to-date, complete and fit for purpose
    3. Follow-up all incidents to ensure that there are appropriate remediation measures in place
    4. Monitor potential shortfalls
  • Advisory and Projects (testing, monitoring and audit management)
    1. Drive the changes around client asset regulation and internal set-up with relevant internal partners
    2. Keep a regulatory and industry watch together with legal and Compliance partners
    3. Assist in statutory audits and any other internal or external audits in the Client Asset Protection area
    4. Maintain the required level of awareness regarding client asset protection within BNPP staff (in particular by taking an active part in preparing and deploying training and monitoring attendance / completion levels including in person training)
    5. Assist review the periodic on-line training program

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar area
  • Between 3 and 5 years years of relevant experience in banking sector or Audit
  • Fluency in English is mandatory (only applications in English will be considered);.
  • Good understanding of client asset protection regulation and of the practices in this area
  • Proeficient in Office package (Excel and Powerpoint

  • Within Prime Services, our PB CASS (Client Asset Sourcebook) team ensures that the firm is adequately meeting its responsibilities and obligations with regards to client assets as specified by the CASS regulation. The team works closely with other areas within the business, such as securities lending and product development, as well as with transversal teams such as Operations and Technology
