Junior KYC Officer

Junior KYC Officer

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Finance / Accounting or any related field.
    • Ideally, you have gained similar experience in a financial institution or compliance-related role.
    • Strong understanding of KYC principles, AML regulations, and other relevant compliance standards.
    • Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns or anomalies.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate findings clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
    • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and across the Firm/cultures/time zones, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
    • Acts in full compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, Company policies and code of conduct. Upholds highest personal integrity standards.
    • Demonstrates enthusiasm, energy, and drive.

Responsibilities

    • Monitor and review alerts generated daily by the KYC systems, paying attention to strict deadlines. 
    • Conduct prompt and thorough investigations into flagged alerts to determine the validity and nature of potential risks and suspicious activities.
    • Analyse customer information, transactional data, and other relevant documentation to assess the legitimacy of customer activities.
    • Document investigation findings and maintain accurate records of actions taken in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Escalate all blocking points or potential risks to management. Provide KPIs and report to management on a regular basis.
    • Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance understanding of KYC processes and emerging risks.
