The position at a glance
The CEP IT Functions team is responsible for the support of various Human Resources sponsors for the business as usual and their projects. CEP IT Functions will contribute to drive the usability and usage of the end-product: from initial demand to delivery into Production.
We are seeking an IT Business Analyst with Human Resources knowledge and Agile experience to bridge the gap between our technical teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage their IT expertise to understand complex systems and processes, while also possessing strong analytical and communication skills to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
In detail
The team members are responsible of the following activities:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BNP Paribas business partners, including Sponsors, Production Support teams and Developers.
- Act as Proxy Product Owner (PPO) to drive Product backlog / Product increments with the business and help them prioritize during sprint planning meetings
- Responsible for managing, coordinating, challenging and advising the sponsors on their portfolio needs
- Develop functional test scripts and data files, execute system integration testing, provide supporting documentation and assist in user acceptance testing.
- Perform analysis to define requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
- Assess potential risks and uncertainties associated with different options is crucial. Business Analyst must consider the likelihood and impact of various risks and develop contingency plans.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement application changes to improve processes and support business growth.
- Be an active part in the decision-making process by providing valuable perspectives, manage expectations and ensure buy-in.
- Define, measure and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of decisions and initiatives
- Manage small projects as required.
- Remediate obsolescence and vulnerabilities as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
The ideal candidate has 7+ years experience as BA:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science
- Broad background as Business Analyst and strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle process and Agile practices.
- Proven organizational skills with good multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely to audiences of varying technical or seniority levels
- Ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently with some supervision to achieve milestones and deadlines
- Ability to provide clear status through PowerPoint presentation or other channels
- Advanced knowledge of Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting
- Technical skills (familiar to intermediate):
- PeopleSoft
- Oracle HCM
- SQL queries
- Process modeling tools and techniques like UML
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of French and English is required.
