Position Purpose
Function: Middle Office Function for Cross Financial products including exchange Traded Products (Cash Equity and Listed Derivatives as well as Fixed Income, Collateral Management, Investment Trust and OTC Derivatives)

The team covers multiple products (Cash Equity / Stock Loan / Listed Derivatives / Fixed Income / Collateral Management / Investment Trust / OTC Derivatives) as follows.
This position is a manager of manager position (might directly manage one of team depending on organizational set-up) to oversight on cross asset financial products middle office function including outsourcing as below. Outsourcing ratio varies per each product.
- Cash Equity: support the Agency & facilitation desks trading activities.
- Stock Loan: support stock loan and funding collateral desk trading activities
- Listed Derivatives: support the listed derivatives desks trading activities.
- Fixed Income: support the rates desk trading activities.
- Collateral Management: support the collateral management.
- Investment Trust: support the investment trust transaction activities.
- OTC Derivatives: support support TRS, IRS, CDS, FX Swap type of products activities.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Equity, Stock Loan, Listed Derivatives, Collateral Management, Investment Trust and OTC OTC Derivatives
Manage multiple functional teams in middle office teams
- People Management of the entire team of total about 20 people across 3 teams
- Ensure each task and product has sufficient coverage and backup within the team.
- Escalate any issue for people, day-to-day processes, market changes, client communication, offshoring tasks or new business enablement to the management in a timely manner.
- Detect potential issues proactively and set up robust processes with appropriate controls.
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring for each line manager as well as staff level in each team
- Working closely with IT to implement new systems and system enhancements to fulfill various needs for business, regulations, controls and efficiencies.
- High level understanding of operational process, control and risk in each team
- Choose appropriate approach either hands-off or hands-on to make sure the team provides expected support to front office as well as clients.
- Perform deep dive analysis with the team for incident, exceptional process, global/regional process control implementation/change.
- Establish and maintain good business relationship with Front Office, Compliance, Legal, Finance and etc
- Oversight the offshoring tasks to maintain the quality of service and follow up any issue, including the relationship building with key managers.
- Make sure that the team generates and submits the regulatory reporting in scope.
- Follow up regulatory, marketwide changes or internal policy changes to comply with them.
New Business enablement
- Work closely with the front office in Japan and clients to assess the feasibility or come up with required enhancement or changes in order to facilitate the implementation of new Business and new scheme and flow.

Specific Qualifications Required
Required:
- Team / People Management experience
- 8 years experiences minimum in Financial Industries
- Professional communication skills in English and Japanese
- Ability and willingness to learn and improve new product and process as well as developing people
- Compliance and Risk mindset
- At ease with numbers
- Time management and Prioritization skill
- Comfortable with PC skills such as Excel (pivot table, vlookup and basic calculation formulas)
- JSDA Sales Representative Qualification (Class 1 & 2)
