At the Sustainable Business Competence Center (SBCC), we turn ambition into action by financing the energy transition of our Corporate Banking clients. Our team of 5 experts, based in Brussels, works closely with Relationship Managers, the BNP Paribas Group’s sustainability network, and clients to:
- Structure non-recourse project financing for energy transition projects (solar, wind, biomass, heat pumps, etc.).
- Support the sale of Sustainable Finance products (Green Loans, Sustainability-Linked Loans).
- Engage with clients on their ESG challenges and ambitions, from risk assessment to opportunity identification.
- Build and share expertise on energy markets, financial modeling, and sustainable business practices.
As our Energy Expert, you’ll leverage your technical or financial background in the energy sector to:
- Lead the credit structuring of transition projects alongside Relationship Managers.
- Advise on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), electricity procurement, and cashflow forecasting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Coverage, S-Business teams, Company Engagement) to align sustainable solutions with client needs.
- Stay ahead of ESG trends and translate them into actionable insights for our corporate clients.
YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES
We’re looking for a proactive, analytical professional with:
- Relevant expertise in one or more of these areas:
- Structuring energy deals (renewables, transition projects).
- B2B electricity sales, including negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Purchasing electricity or managing energy procurement.
- Building financial models (e.g., cashflow forecasts).
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks, opportunities, and sustainable impact.
- A client-focused mindset: ability to negotiate, identify risks, and propose tailored solutions.
- Teamwork and stakeholder management to bridge technical expertise with business goals.
- Autonomy and results-driven approach, with a passion for sustainable business.
- Fluency in French and Dutch, plus professional English.
- Curiosity to deepen your knowledge of ESG dimensions in corporate banking.
