Department: Personal Investors IT

About Business line/Function: CPBS – Personal Investors IT

Position Purpose:

The IT Data Manager’s responsibility is to foster operational compliance with Personal Investors’ data management provisions – within the DCIO’s area of responsibility- of data assets entrusted to her / him. This concerns especially requirements within the subject areas: Know-Your-Data (KYD), Data Modeling and Data Quality. In alliance with the Data Domain Manager, the IT Data Manager operationally performs IT specific activities that foster completeness and consistency of Personal Investors’ Enterprise Data Model (EDM) on all levels.

The IT Data Manager should facilitate efficient management of Personal Investors’ data to leverage business growth, especially by supporting to deliver high-quality data, mapping data requirements from Business and AI use cases, while ensuring compliance to regulations (esp. BCBS 239) and BNP group standards, governing the DCIO‘s area of responsibility.

 Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • The IT Data Manager ensures the correct, complete and timely inventory of Application Data Models (ADD) and logical data flows (data lineage) within the Enterprise Data Management Tool (WeData) and the PI KYD Application, of data assets entrusted to her / him. 
  • The role operationally ensures the business-logical conformity of data assets’ conceptual and application data models towards the KYD information model for a specific Business Domain. 
  • In course of his operational tasks, the IT Data Manager actively advocates compliance with and fostering the PI IT Data Governance framework, in the IT Sub-CoE’s Data Management (DCIO office) area of responsibility. 
  • In close collaboration with the Data Domain Manager and the CDO Office, the IT Data Manager fosters technical implementation of data quality controls, as well as the remediation of apparent data quality issues. 

Contributing Responsibilities

  • In course of the KYD review of a respective application, the IT Data Manager interacts with relevant stakeholder - primarily IT Responsible and Business Application Owner – knowledgeable on an application’s data model, when reviewing a data asset within the respective Business Domain. Together, they identify the most accurate business context of inventoried data objects. 
  • She/he shall operationally support business teams (tribes, projects, functions) on the harmonious interpretation of a data asset’s business meaning. 
  • The completeness and accuracy of Personal Investors’ metadata within the respective dictionaries – with focus on critical data and technical metadata – shall drive the IT Data Manager’s activities.
  • The IT Data Managers operationally supports the CDO office to identify convenient data quality controls throughout a data asset’s lifecycle and completeness of data lineage.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Governance and Protection
  • Intrinsic motivation to analyze complex dependencies, while aiming for a high level of detail
  • Expertise in Data engineering technology (e.g. SQL, ETL development)
  • Possess very good English speaking and writing skills
  • Work experience in Architecture modelling tools (e.g. Sparx EA, Collibra) – advantageous.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Proven experience within a convenient area e.g. software development, data engineering, data management
  • Proven experience within the area of data modelling/engineering and market’s best practice data management technologies.
  • Basic knowledge on banking industry and securities trading – advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capacity and the ability to comprehensibly explain and visualize complex contexts.
  • Critical thinking, as well as committed, self-reliant and structured way of working.
  • Organizational and communication skills with a confident appeal - Advantageous. 

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
