About the job

  • Within the COO of Global Banking (GB), the GB Data Office (a great team of 6 FTEs as of today) oversees the Global Banking Data Strategy to support Global Banking ambitious / objectives
  • The GB is also in charge of defining and promoting strong data governance framework, strengthening data quality, and ensuring that data is accessible, consistent, and responsibly used across the organization (Worldwide scope)
  • Within the Global Banking Data Office team, the Data Management Analyst will orchestrate functional guidelines and recommendations on data management, considering operational and regulatory requirements. Indeed supports the deployment of data management guidelines “Enterprise Data Management Framework” — EDMF) across the organization (GB Business Lines, Regions and Operations)
  • May also be responsible for leading data projects while ensuring the quality of deliverables and must also master the fundamentals of data management, confidentiality, and data protection
  • This role implies an active contribution to the development and execution of the GB data strategy
  • For that, will coordinate and work in close collaboration with different stakeholders/contributors (Business Lines, RISK/Finance, IT, CDOs, etc.) and act as the key point of contact for its scope of responsibilities

Your Main Activities Are

  • The Data Management Analyst will coordinate transversal data activities for cross-functional data categories and provide data specific expertise (e.g. Credit, Transactional…)
  • Contribute to the implementation of the applicable data management (EDMF) – Front to Operations - and data protection Group’s frameworks (procedures, governance and controls) in collaboration with Business Lines, IT and support Functions
  • Oversee GB Data Office Committees such as Quality Assessment and Remediation Committee (QARC), GB Data Boards, etc
  • Contribute to data quality monitoring and issues remediation ensuring timely escalation in the appropriate governance bodies (e.g. QARCs) if needed 
  • Follow up on documentation (incl. Operational norms, procedural, etc.), list of Critical / Strategic Data, Controls & Data Quality Indicators, remediation & labellisation of data (Credit, ESG, Client, etc.), list of Data Domain Managers / Data Stewards, etc. on GB worldwide scope
  • Contribute to the implementation of data management tools in alignment with the Enterprise data management tool (e.g., WeData) and GB requirements
  • Establish functional guidelines and recommendations on data management, taking into account operational and regulatory requirements, including topics such as dictionaries, traceability, lineage, classification, etc
  • Define, develop, and maintain data dictionaries and catalogs, and organize their governance
  • Identify operational needs regarding data description / data dictionary and data lineage
  • Manage projects, planning, implementation, timelines, functionalities, quality, and costs
  • Ensure alignment between operational needs and IT developments
  • Ensure alignment with all applicable frameworks, guidelines, and best practices

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Maths or similar
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Banking Front/Operations / IT or Finance
  • Experience in Data projects, data dictionary's, data quality and security and data tools
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to manage a project 
  • Culture Transformation & Change Management

  • Ability to understand, explain, and drive change
  • Ability to define relevant performance indicators
  • Analytical skills
