Position Purpose

Your main responsibility is to package applications and system components on the BNP Paribas Fortis Windows environment.

This includes intake, package build and test, followed by deployment preparation in SCCM and aftercare.

Packaging is performed following strict policies, processes and procedures, which are all subjected to continuous improvement:

As a single point of contact for the customer the role of Windows Packager is, according to his situation on the “learning curve”, to observe, participate in, lead the activities and the production of deliverables in these phases :

1.             Intake
The purpose of the intake phase is to assure the requester knows exactly what he needs to request and what information and sources he must provide to be able to create the package: 

·       Collect the information to understand the demand of the customer 

·       Analyze the impact, assure the test and deployment scenario are prepared for each product in the release

·       Plan and follow-up

2.             Build phase

The purpose of build phase is to package the software for delivery to end users or backend servers:

·       Package the necessary components and prerequisites using Flexera Adminstudio or the Microsoft App-V sequencer

·       Combine the release components in an application

·       Test the release from a technical point of view (Assembly testing) and control its quality (Integration Testing)

3.             Functional validation

The goal of the functional validation phase is to have the application responsible validate the functionality of the packaged components.

To do so you will have to:

·       Prepare the non-prod environment for validation

·       Invite the application responsible 

·       Follow-up the outcome

4.             Deployment
In this phase you prepare the packaged components for deployment in the production environment using SCCM and App-V as agreed with our client.

5.             After care
The purpose of the After-care phase is to ensure the support of the delivered kits during a fixed time after: 

·       Analyze the incidents due to the delivered kits

·       Build solutions to solve those incidents

·       Give support to the second line support 

·       Make the necessary documentation available for support team and future upgrade-demands

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Mandatory Skills: 

·       SCCM

·       App-V

·       Microsoft Windows Installer.

·       Windows command line scripting

·       PowerShell

·       VBScript.

Business Experience: 

·       Wintel system administration in a large environment

·       Wintel Release and deployment experience in a large environment.
