Senior Test Analyst

Position Purpose

 The main purpose of a ‘Senior Test Analyst’ is:

 •    Understand the business requirements, convert them to test cases and perform functional, regression and technical tests for projects. 

 •    Work across different projects with internal, offshore and external stakeholders to manage the testing from start to the end of the project. This can include system, integration, UAT and performance testing.

 •    Act as a Test lead for various projects including completing test strategy and project reporting.

 •    Interacting with and supporting colleagues overseas including Chennai, India. 

 •    Implementing and contributing to testing team standards, policies & best practices

 •    Display the desire, aptitude and flexibility to adapt to working patterns and organisational structures used by the Development Teams and the wider CIB Security Services IT teams.

 •    Escalate any issues or risks in a timely manner

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:

 •    Preparing and executing test plan, test scenarios, and test scripts. 

 •    Preparing Test Strategies and Test Completion reports.

 •    Acting as Test and/or UAT Lead for various projects.

 •    Collaborating with Business to understand the scope

 •    Assist in test estimates for the given requirements

 •    Identifying the risk & coming up with mitigation plan

 •    Completing a gap analysis

 •    Creation of test data

 •    Carry out tests and identify defects to qualify a release 

 •    Perform database validation ( Hands on DB testing)

 •    Status reporting and dash boarding

 •    Carry out the root cause analysis for any defect leakages

 •    Sharing the knowledge with the team

 •    Contribute to continuous improvement of the testing practise

 •    Oversight and mentoring Junior Test Analyst 

 •    Contribute to automation scripts

 •    Continuous improvement: They have a continuous improvement mentality, and the maturity to not be frustrated by an environment that changes rapidly and is constantly growing.  They will be able to deal with competing priorities without becoming overwhelmed, and will be able to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.

 •    Drive for results: The Senior Test Analyst has a proven ability to deliver results in a demanding environment, and is committed to performing their function fully in order to meet deadlines and quality standards. The successful candidate has an excellent work ethic, and will be committed to assisting the team achieve its goals.  They are personally accountable, and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.

 •    Negotiation & conflict resolution: Negotiates or mediates sound agreements in situations where there is disagreement or differences in interests

 •    Strategic thinking: Understands the business, and anticipates business needs, reflecting this in the approach to current solutions

 Experience and Qualifications required

 Required:

 •    At least 7 years’ experience in testing

 •    At least 5 years’ financial services functional testing experience in areas such as:

 o    Financial markets, middle office operations

 o    Custody, fund accounting and/or unit registry

 o    Reporting - Regulatory (APRA, ASIC), Performance and Compliance etc. 

 •    At least 4 years’ experience with testing reporting and dash boarding

 •    At least 2 years’ experience providing oversight to others 

 •    At least 2 years’ experience in an agile environment 

 •    At least 2 years’ experience in database and data warehouse testing

 •    At least 2 years’ experience working with an offshore team

 Desirable:

 •    Experience with Automation tools like Selenium, Azure Devops, UFT etc.

 •    Regression testing experience and expertise with tools / suites.

 •    Exposure to investment administration applications (e.g. HiPortfolio, Simcorp, Multifonds), unit pricing application (e.g. pControl) or similar. 

• Experience with Safe/Scrum/Kanban

 •    Experience with Agile tools like Jira / Azure Devops /Confluence
