What is this position about?

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a Senior Lead Business Analytics to serve as the Deputy Head of our Business Analytics team, shaping the future of BNPP Wealth Management APAC through cutting-edge analytics, governance, and innovation.

In this high-impact role, you will:

•    Lead and mentor a team of data analytics professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

•    Drive data-driven decision-making by delivering actionable insights from private banking data, ensuring senior management relies on accurate, timely, and visually compelling analytics.

•    Own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle, including

    -  Exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities 

    -  Diagnostic & predictive modelling to understand and forecast client behavior, sales steering and business outcomes, enabling proactive decision-making

    -  Deployment and operationalization of analytics solutions, from development to production, with rigorous quality and risk assurance

    -  BAU (Business As Usual) cycles, ensuring seamless data refreshes, governance, and automation of R, Python, and Tableau workflows

•    Bridge the gap between data and strategy, translating complex analytics into clear, high-impact recommendations that influence key business decisions and championing Agile/Lean approaches to ensure projects are delivered reliability and efficiently

What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 

Primary Role Responsibilities

Leadership

•    Function as the deputy head of the Business Analytics team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.

•    Serve as direct line manager for business analytics staff, ensuring their professional development, performance management, and career growth.

•    Lead and oversee business initiatives, guide the team in delivering high-quality analytics solutions.

•    Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the team and across stakeholders.

Analytics Insights

•    Drive analytics activities at all stages of the analytics lifecycle, with an emphasis on private banking data to generate actionable insights.

•    Engage stakeholders to understand business issues and opportunities, ensuring alignment with private banking objectives.

•    Ensure proper data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation, with a focus on data quality and governance standards.

•    Demonstrate expert project management skills in planning, estimation, tracking, monitoring, and change management.

•    Translate analytics findings into actionable business proposals and develop effective communication using data visualization techniques, storytelling, and presentation best practices.

•    Apply Agile/Lean methodologies to ensure efficient and adaptive project execution.

•    Utilize Tableau Server as the primary visualization platform and R/Python (on Posit) as the core analytics platform to deliver solutions.

Analytics Operations and Governance

•    Manage data refresh cycles to ensure timely and accurate updates for analytics and reporting.

•    Oversee data governance assurance, ensuring compliance with internal standards and understanding implications on business outcomes

•    Monitor and maintain R, Python, and Tableau job cycles to support seamless Tableau dashboard refreshes.

•    Lead software deployment progression from development to QA to production, including:

    - Critical risk and quality assurance checklists

    - Automation of deployment processes to minimize errors and improve efficiency

    - Collaboration with IT and business teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption

What is required for you to succeed?

Qualifications

•    8+ years of direct experience in leading data analytics teams, preferably in a private banking environment.

•    Proven track record of successful execution of data analytics initiatives, with a focus on private banking data and insights.

•    Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, or a related field.

•    Expert-level proficiency in R, Python, Tableau Server, and SQL, with hands-on experience in Tableau Desktop, Prep Builder, Posit (RStudio) Workbench & Connect.

•    Strong project management skills, including experience in Agile/Lean methodologies, planning, estimation, tracking, and change management.

•    Experience in managing software deployment cycles, including risk and quality assurance, automation, and compliance.

Skills

•    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics findings into clear business recommendations.

•    Advanced analytics skills, with a passion for leveraging private banking data to drive business performance.

•    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, verify facts, and propose data-driven alternatives.

•    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

•    Expertise in project management, including Agile/Lean approaches, risk management, and deployment automation.
