The position at a glance
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated production support analyst to join our RISK team.
Within the Risk Department, the Risk Management Systems team ensures the continuous evolution and operation of the Bank's market and counterparty risk systems, which are responsible for the daily calculation of market risk capital data using advanced methods approved by regulatory bodies (Monte-Carlo).
The IT Operations Risk team is responsible for calculating and providing risk data for all asset classes in the Risk Management Department for market and counterparty risks.
These functions have a broad scope, covering all commercial (core and exotic) sites and products in all sectors of the capital markets activity of the CIB Division.
The team offers unique experience with a wide range of risk quantification techniques (transaction sensitivity, risk value, other interest indicators and loan repayment, stress tests, reserves, counterparty risk) and their integration into a single market and counterparty risk management system.
The analyst will resolve system problems, optimize risk reporting and ensure data integrity across the platform for critical RISK applications.
In addition, the analyst will also work with key stakeholders to enhance platform capabilities and oversee the delivery of specific market and counterparty risk.
In detail
The team members are responsible of the following activities:
- Monitor, Manage and troubleshoot production applications and systems to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Respond to incidents and service request in a timely manner.
- Monitory end of day system processes and ensure availability of risk to the users.
- Analyze production issues and perform root cause analysis using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk for analysis.
- Provide support for frontend applications running on Apache Tomcat servers.
- Work with development teams to identify fixes and patches and ensure timely application of updates.
- Use of SQL queries to analyze data and troubleshoot issues related to application performance and data integrity.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Apache Kafka clusters and ensure the smooth flow of messages between producers and consumers.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with ability to analyze complex issues quickly and accurately.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday. You may be expected to make yourself available outside of these hours from time to time based on the Bank’s
The work involves rotating shifts and you will often have to work the next shifts outside the normal work schedule.
Specified: 11:30 to 8pm during the winter. 12:30 to 9pm during summer
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
- 3-5 years of experience in Applications Production Support
- Strong experience with Linux systems including command-line operations, shell scripting and system troubleshooting.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, including monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning of Kafka clusters.
- Hands on experience with Dynatrace to monitor and optimize application performance
- Solid understanding of SQL for database troubleshooting, query optimization and data analysis
- Experience with Apache tomcats including managing and troubleshooting applications running on tomcat servers.
- In depth experience in Splunk for log management and real time analysis
- Should have experience in Jira, ServiceNow or other ITSM tools.
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
