Job Title: Reconciliation Business Analyst

Department: CEFS-Reconciliation

About Business line/Function: 

The IT Reconciliations Department is managing the reconciliations (Financial, Referential, Systems to Systems, ...) for a number of BNP Paribas's domains (Global Markets, Global Banking, Security Services, Wealth Management, ...) via specialized expert systems (FIS DIM/Intellimatch, Pega PCM, Socrates). 

Our internal clients are working 24/7 at a worldwide level with a high level of reliability. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is the key partner in all IT functions and has interactions with   colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it. To ensure our efficiency and alignment with the market expectations, we have to ensure that both our architecture and our technologies are up  to date and aligned with the most efficient and reliable standards.

Position Purpose: 

The position has a strong focus on stability, flexibility, and expertise to always guarantee the proper Clients’ expectations. Working in an international Clients base environment but also as part of an Offshore organization, the capacity to interact in a respectful and easy way with both his/her Clients, Management, and team to find compromises while guaranteeing the proper organization and seamless relations is a must. 

The key interactions are with the Project Sponsor, operations team, and delivery teams. Working in a very quality oriented environment, the position requires Agile knowledge as well as Costs and Clients’ benefits concepts. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and adaptability to navigate the complexities of working in a globally distributed environment.

The Business Analyst within Reconciliation IT is the functional and technical SME who drives end-to-end value change for the Group’s reconciliation ecosystem. This role involves working as an Individual contributor within a team of business analysts, engaging with stakeholders, managing requirements for complex projects, and ensuring the alignment of IT deliverables with business strategies. The Lead IT Business Analyst acts as a trusted advisor, mentor, and facilitator within the business analysis team and plays a critical role in shaping project outcomes. Proactive, analytical, and strategic mindset, with the ability to lead complex projects and improve IT processes to support the business and organizational growth. The IT Business Analyst shall be in charge of all the requirements gathering, clarification of the request, translating them to User stories , ensuring the UAT’s are completed with end users in a timely manner. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

1.        Requirements Gathering and Documentation

·       Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, goals, and challenges.

·       Collect and document functional requirements for IT solutions.

·       Analyze business processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement, recommending solutions where possible

2.        Solution Design and Validation

§  Collaborate with developers, architects, and other technical teams to design IT solutions that meet business requirements.

§  Create detailed documentation, including requirements, use cases, process flows, and specifications, to guide development and testing.

§  Ensure that all solutions are well-documented and align with industry best practices.

3.        Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

·       Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, facilitating effective communication and alignment.

·       Maintain ongoing relationships with stakeholders, keeping them informed of project status and managing expectations.

·       Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to clarify requirements and gather feedback

4.        Testing and Quality Assurance

·       Define and validate acceptance criteria to ensure solutions meet business expectations.

·       Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test cases and coordinating with QA teams and stakeholders.

·       Identify, document, and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

5.        Project Support and Execution

·       Assist project managers in defining project scope, objectives, and timelines.

·       Support the planning, execution, and tracking of project activities, helping to ensure successful delivery.

·       Coordinate with cross-functional teams to keep project tasks on schedule and within scope.

6.        Data Analysis and Reporting

·       Conduct data analysis to provide insights that inform business and IT decisions.

·       Develop and maintain reports, and KPIs to track project outcomes and support continuous improvement.

·       Present findings to stakeholders to validate requirements or guide decision-making.

9. Documentation and User Training

·       Create and maintain user manuals, process documentation, and training materials.

·       Train end-users on new systems, processes, and best practices, ensuring successful adoption.

·       Provide ongoing support to users to ensure they are confident and effective in using IT solutions.

Contributing Responsibilities

·       Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio)

·       Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

·       Familiarity with Oracle databases, Understanding schema, SQL, Reconciliation tools

·       Quick to learn and adapt

·       Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

·       Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

·       Good Team player 

·       Someone who could have long-term commitment with the team and organization

Specific Qualifications:

·       3+ years of experience as IT Business Analyst.

·       Experience in Banking Financial domain, covering Reconciliation domain

·       Experience working on Reconciliation tools

·       A proven experience in multi-expertise team management in an international environment,

·       An experience in an Onshore/Offshore would be a key factor,

·       A very good English level is mandatory,

Qualification

: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business or a related field; Master’s degree or certifications such as CSPO, PMP, AWS, are a plus.

·       Knowledge of Reconciliation, types of reconciliation, basic reconciliation reports and various applied for reconciliation setup etc

·       Working knowledge of reconciliation tools like IntelliMatch, Duco, Gresham, TLM
