Objective of the function:

As Product Manager, you are responsible of driving the product development process and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders across all departments to translate business needs into a product strategy that maintains BNP Paribas Fortis Factor and its subsidiaries (in the Netherlands, Germany, UK and Denmark) leading market position.

Reporting directly to the Head of COO Office, you will contribute to optimize the organization’s existing products and embrace innovative ones. You can follow the developments on the market and identify opportunities for products/innovations within Factoring Northern Europe, but also in partnerships with other métiers of the Bank (such as Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, Global Trade Solutions, Cash-Management), with the Factoring Filière, or in partnerships with external stakeholders such as fintechs.

The purpose of the role is to work in an international and complex environment to help define and deliver Factoring products. The Product Manager contributes to the development of FNE  solutions and covers all Product Development dimensions including delivery of new product features and improvements, industrialization and performance enhancements, collection of user feedback, identification of new areas of growth and management of continuous deliveries, coordinating the End-to-End processes in collaboration with Sales, Relationship Management, Marketing, Receivables Management, IT and Control Functions (i.e. Risk, Legal, Compliance,  Finance).

Next to this, you coordinate the projects concerning the set-up of new products/innovations. You are in regular contact with the Management Team and work closely with the departments Salesand Marketing & Communication.

Your function:

  • You know and monitor the existing products, and you report to the Management Team. You analyze the use of our products, their efficiency, the satisfaction and needs of our clients, the possible evolutions/innovation, etc. 
  • You are the point of contact concerning product innovation and evolution. You follow the market in terms of innovations (broader than Factoring), regulatory changes (i.e. e-invoicing) & economic evolutions, identify opportunities, coordinate innovation / evolution projects, recommend/design new attractive products or express improvement proposals for existing products.  You try to improve the efficiency of products with a focus on client experience.
  • You define and implement marketing strategy in cooperation with Sales and Communication & Marketing department around new products. 
  • You coordinate the allocated projects for what concerns their validation (through validation committees), set-up and implementation.  Close cooperation with IT and Control Functions (i. e. Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance) is also part of the job (define requirements, follow-up of developments, testing, etc.).
  • You manage specific missions assigned by the Management Team.
  • You make research and document product requirements to ensure that products meet business needs, performance objectives, and deliver expected customer experience. You make proposals for remediation plans to ensure that products meet business and client needs.
  • You implement and monitor the segment strategies through initiatives on acquisition, cross-selling, service upgrade, customer loyalty and retention. 
  • You prepare and follow up changes in our core factoring IT applications (i.e. Aquarius and peripheral systems) formalized through business requests.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Economics & Finance
  • Requires 10 years of minimum prior relevant experience
  • Ability to identify opportunities, quickly understand complex business concerns and define improvements
  • Analytical skills & results driven
  • Thorough knowledge of Factoring products, processes and core IT applications (i.e. Aquarius and peripheral systems). Knowledge of Bank products (such as cash-management, trade finance, bank facilities) is an additional asset
  • High organizational, negotiation and communication skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Proficiency in English, Dutch and/or French

Work location

Leuven, Turnhout and Brussels.

Travel abroad on occasion.
