- Present in Lisbon and Porto the Global Markets Operational and Permanent Control (GM OPC) teams works to safeguard business operations by identifying risks, analyzing past incidents, and strengthening controls. We work closely with traders, managers, and risk teams to build reports, track key risk indicators, and drive continuous improvement—all the while ensuring compliance with global standards
Your Main Activities Are
- Reporting, Analysis & Data Management: produce regular operational‑risk indicator (ORI) reports – weekly, monthly, quarterly – and perform trend analyses against historical data to surface emerging patterns; collect, cleanse, and validate data using a variety of tools; develop and maintain the necessary SQL/BI queries and perform routine data‑quality checks to ensure accurate inputs for all reports; deliver concise, data‑driven presentations and dashboards for governance committees, senior stakeholders, and audit forums; maintain up‑to‑date documentation of controls, processes, procedures, flowcharts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Digital Improvement & Automation: continuously review existing reports and control‑related processes for opportunities to automate or streamline; champion advanced digital solutions (e.g., Large Language Models, data‑visualisation tools) that reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and improve data integrity.
- Governance, Communication & Stakeholder Management: prepare, review, and distribute clear, actionable reports and presentations for management, audit committees, and risk‑management forums; respond promptly to ad‑hoc OPC requests – statistical analyses, KPI calculations, special presentations – ensuring consistent, high‑quality output across regions.
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, IT, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely‑related discipline – preferred.
- Minimum 3 years in operational‑risk, data‑analytics, business analysis, control‑framework implementation, or a comparable field.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving abilities; comfortable interpreting large data sets and spotting trends.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook – mandatory.
- Basic‑to‑intermediate competence in Tableau, Power BI (or similar) for creating dashboards and visual reports – mandatory.
- Working knowledge of Python, VBA (or comparable scripting languages) to manipulate data, automate tasks and support digital‑process improvements – mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills; strong interpersonal capability to build relationships, facilitate workshops, and achieve consensus with senior leaders, auditors and cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership (ownership of workstreams, mentoring junior staff) and a collaborative, professional attitude with high accountability.
- Proven ability to juggle competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining systematic documentation (reports, SOPs, flowcharts, control matrices).
- Comfortable thriving in fast‑paced, changing environments; quickly adopts new tools/processes and proactively seeks process‑efficiency or automation opportunities.
