Position Purpose:
For the scope of Global Banking (GB) and as part of the first line of defense, the OPC for GB is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong Conduct & Permanent Control framework on all non-financial risks (operational, conduct and regulatory) throughout the 1LOD across CIB in strong partnership with the métiers, functions and regions, and with LoD 2/3.
Corporate Clients Group (CCG) which focuses on the coverage of all our corporate clients. It encompasses all existing coverage teams and includes Industry Groups and M&A to provide strategic content to clients.
Global Capital Markets (GCM) brings together all financing activities (i.e. Real Assets, LSF, Loan Book), Capital Markets activities (DCM/ECM and Strategic Hedging) and syndication (LMFS) to offer one-stop-shop financing solutions to our clients.
Transaction Banking offers a full range of Transaction Banking solutions, including Cash Management, Trade and Supply Chain Finance, as well as Liquidity and Investment Solutions.
Direct Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of Operational and Conduct Risk Manager, Global Banking include, but are not limited to the following and shall be implemented in alignment with Global Banking worldwide where relevant:
· Active contribution in maintaining a robust, coherent organization and governance across Global Banking for all non-financial risks (duly involving LOD2&3 and Functions):
· Provide inputs as necessary in coordinating responses on operational risks enquiries / surveys raised by LOD2/LOD3/Regulators for GB.
· Facilitate oversight of risk and control matters impacting Global Banking, in line with the CIB OPC Charter and the Global Banking Front to Ops Governance Principles of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
· This shall be carried out with the aim of ensuring compliance within each territory of regulations and regulatory expectations; compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures; and protection of the Group’s reputation; in alignment and integration with Global Banking worldwide and coordination with CCCO stakeholders.
· Assist in execution of controls including remediation of root cause and closure of results.
· Collaborating with various teams in BNPP ISPL to ensure smooth integration and functioning of day-to-day activities. Ensuring that services provided by BNPP ISPL are in alignment with SLA. Whenever required, adjust the SLAs/ activities.
· Support the team, reply to escalation, reallocate tasks based on priorities.
· The controls performed should be complete in all aspects as mentioned below:
a) All controls assigned should be performed
b) Documentation of controls to be complete in all respects ensuring such document / reference guide is validated from onshore
c) Conclusion of the controls should be precise and clearly explain the issues and / or outcome
d) Control outcome to be reported within the internal / external deadlines given by the management
e) The outcomes reported should be with high level of quality and accuracy as agreed
f) Report results in ORUS/ another tool as applicable
g) Keep complete transparency of issue / error logs and escalate the same to the onshore region on a timely basis.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
· Knowledge of BNPP CIB set up, Group & CIB framework / guidelines
· Proven expertise in handling operational risk management matters, particularly on Credit Risk Analysis and Management.
· Strong knowledge of credit underwriting guidelines, loan origination process, financial statement analysis
· Prior experience working on RCSA (Risk and Control Self Assessment) identifying risk triggers, analyzing risk evolution, provide solutions to mitigate risks.
· Practical knowledge on TAC/NAC(Transaction Approval Committee & New Activity Committee) procedure and framework.
· Ability to interact and manage stakeholders at different seniority levels and across different Métiers/Function
· Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment, on various projects at the same time and under tight deadlines
· Ability to facilitate, manage and implement organizational, cultural changes and transformation.
· Ability to make clear and timely decisions which are based on judgement after weighing up all facts, risks, constraints and available options.
