Global Markets
BNP Paribas’ Global Markets (‘GM’) business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rates, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. GM help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organizations.
GM has the scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in almost all of the world’s currencies. Their global network comprises more than 1,700 professionals working on our six main trading floors in London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo. They are supported by regional offices throughout Europe, the Americas, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
GM ALMT (‘GMAT’)
It operates within the Group ALCo designed framework and by joint delegation from the ALM Treasury (‘ALMT’) and Global Markets’ (‘GM’). The team LoD 1 and 2 are GM control framework. Within the T2RS transversal team, GMAT is responsible for the management of liquidity:
i) GM assets and liabilities liquidity vision analysis,
ii) setting internal rules,
iii) defining fund transfer pricing,
iv) operationally managing GM liquidity within a set of limit, and v) monitoring liquidity indicators in order to minimize liquidity risks and costs by giving the right incentives to the business across regions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The GMAT Treasurer, Intern level role, is responsible for:
- Assisting the T2RS team to fulfil its global mandate to ensure the efficient use of liquidity along with other capital resources (Risk Weighted Assets, Leverage Exposure / GSIB / ESRF & any prudential capital filters) and ensuring transparency of such resource usage is available at the Global Business Line, desk and regional levels.
- Working on specific automation projects to enhance the Treasury desk tools.
- Delivering small-scale project on the tools used by the Treasury desk.
- Working under direct supervision of members of the GMAT team and assisting in the day-to-day activities of the desk.
- Providing on-demand analysis of GM liquidity metrics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Good coding knowledge, preferably python and VBA.
- Good data analysis skills of large volumes of data.
- Excellent written and oral English skills.
- Good team spirit.
Preferred
- Qualifications in financial products and Finance models and analytics.
