Position Purpose:
The Principal DevSecOps & Engineering Craftsmanship Coach acts as a high-level technical strategist and mentor. The primary purpose of this role is to bridge the gap between rapid feature delivery and high-quality engineering standards. You will lead the transformation of our development culture by championing "Security by Design," implementing Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to manage microservices complexity, and spearheading the integration of AI-driven development tools to optimize engineering productivity and code quality.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Engineering Mentorship: Provide high-impact coaching to senior and staff engineers to foster a culture of clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and technical excellence.
- DevSecOps & Pipeline Engineering: Architect and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration from Git-based version control through to automated testing and deployment.
- Container Orchestration & Management: Lead the hands-on implementation of containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including the management of complex deployments via Helm Charts.
- Platform & Cloud Operations: Drive the adoption of enterprise-grade platforms such as OpenShift and various Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) to ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Artifact & Dependency Management: Standardize the lifecycle of binaries and dependencies using JFrog Artifactory, ensuring secure and versioned software supply chains.
- Security Integration (Shift-Left): Design and implement automated security guardrails (SAST, DAST, SCA) within the deployment pipelines to ensure security is integrated into the early stages of development.
- AI Implementation: Lead the evaluation and adoption of Generative AI tools and LLM-based workflows to enhance developer experience and automate repetitive engineering tasks.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, and Product Management teams to align technical roadmaps with security and business goals.
- Tooling & Platform Evolution: Contribute to the development of Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) to reduce cognitive load for engineering squads.
- Knowledge Management: Lead technical workshops, "Community of Practice" sessions, and documentation efforts to ensure architectural and security knowledge is distributed across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor engineering metrics (DORA metrics, deployment frequency, MTTR) to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvement.

- Deep understanding of the interplay between software architecture, security protocols, and automated deployment pipelines.
- A mindset of "Continuous Learning" with the ability to quickly master and evangelize emerging technologies like Generative AI.

Specific Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in professional software development.
- Proven track record in a leadership or coaching capacity (Staff Engineer, Architect, or Technical Lead).
- Extensive experience in large-scale digital transformations, specifically moving from monolithic to microservices architectures.

- Advanced Java & Spring: Expert knowledge of Java ecosystems and Spring Boot/Cloud frameworks.
- Microservices & DDD: Deep expertise in Distributed Systems and Domain-Driven Design patterns.
- Version Control & CI/CD: Advanced proficiency in Git and the design/maintenance of complex CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on mastery of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Configuration Management: Expert ability to manage application deployments using Helm Charts.
- Artifact Management: Proven experience managing enterprise repositories with JFrog Artifactory.
