What is this position about?

  • The position of Investor Services CAM (Client Account Manager) at VP level, in BNP Paribas Investor Services Department is to lead the CAMs team on their day-to-day reporting, client service work and projects and coordinate with the Trade Processing and AML Teams.
  • Work as a professional partner with the Department Head, Clients and all internal stakeholders.
  • As a senior member of the Investor Servicing team, this position aids in the training, supervision and resource allocation of the teams in APAC and acts as a Deputy to the Department Head. This requires a firm knowledge of investor services concepts, ensuring that the team adheres to fund documentation requirements and internal procedures
  • Provide suggestions for efficiencies, process improvements and support the Department Head in all aspects of running the department.
  • This role requires the ability to address client and investor issues and concerns on a day-to-day basis, pulling in internal resources and engaging internal stakeholders in the process. 
  • In addition, contribute to ad hoc projects either for specific client or internal team strategic initiatives such as process improvement, system upgrades and enhancements.  The role is a professional partner with clients, investors and all internal stakeholders.  Written and spoken knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage for some of our key clients.

What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 

Primary Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the resources of the Investor Services CAMs (Client Account Manager) Team and act as key point of contact for Clients/Investors and other departments and act as Deputy for the Head of the Department
  • Maintain and develop trust based relationships with Clients/Investors and Investor Services staff within the APAC offices
  • Ensure a satisfactory and high quality level of service is delivered to Clients/Investors and that queries and requests are dealt with efficiently, in a professional manner and within the agreed Client SLA
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate reporting to Clients/Investors and BNP management. 
  • Take responsibility for all assignments and requests from the Department Head
  • Act as an escalation point and deal with difficult issues not being handled by staff
  • Ensure work processing, reporting and delivery of services is executed in a controlled environment, with strict adherence to BNP Paribas’ internal guidelines as well as the relevant Funds’ external regulatory environment
  • Represent the team to attend Client meetings, auditor meetings, inter-department meetings and Client/Investor Due Diligence reviews 
  • Participate in goal setting, career development and periodic feedback for direct reports as well as train and coach staff to enhance performance 
  • Lead projects such as Fund/Investor Audits, FINRA Recertification, FATCA/CRS Filing and Reporting, ISAE review as well as periodic OPC, ORC and IG audits/reviews

Risk and Compliance

  • Ensure IS Department procedures, BNP internal controls, compliance and regulatory obligations are followed
  • Ensure processing, reporting and delivery of services is executed in a controlled environment, with strict adherence to BNP Paribas’ internal guidelines as well as the relevant Funds’ regulatory environment
  • AML/CFT risk awareness and complete all identified mandatory training to ensure understanding of relevant/applicable Group policies (including but not limited to financial security related matters) and to escalate any irregularities where necessary. To also ensure that his/her team has completed and will adhere to the same.
  • Ensure relevant risk migration controls including authentication check and vigilance screening are performed by the team when processing manual instruction as required by the Bank policy and local regulations if applicable

Other contributions

  • Make recommendations where improvement is identified to enhance Client/Investor satisfaction and improve efficiencies
  • Assist in new mandate pitching meeting and provide FTE estimates for prospective clients as well as coordinate and manage fund documentation and structure reviews and on-board new clients
  • Contribute to projects such as FATCA/CRS Filing and Reporting, SFC and other Client reviews, along with BNP Risk, Operation Control, Internal Audit, Periodic Quality Testing and the annual ISAE review and client DDQs.
  • Contribute to system updates, new initiatives and amendments to processes and procedures

 Conduct 

  • Adhere to the BNP Code of Conduct and act accordingly internally, when facing clients and investors and escalate any irregularities where necessary  
  • Complete all identified mandatory training and additional training as agreed
  • Ensure queries and requests from investors / clients are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain and develop trust-based relationships with investors/clients
  • Partner with clients by providing professional advice and resolutions where required
  • Represent the team in client, auditor and inter-department meetings.
  • Collaborate with other team members and aid in BAU and projects
