The position at a glance
· Oversees the review of the incoming request from the corporate customer and the BNPP’s network or other Banks for issuing International Bank Guarantees (IG) and Stand-by Letters of credit (LC).
· Assures that the request, text, product requested is in line with the customer’s facility
· Oversees the timely and accurate processing of day to day activity.
· Interacts directly with the internal marketing staff, other operational areas, customers, Network and non-network banks for the issuance of IG and LC.
· Ensures consistency of performance and compliance to operational procedures and management reporting guidelines.
· Ensures management is kept updated on any potential problems relating to meeting deadlines, issues and or concerns.
· Ensures that the Banks liabilities are properly processed into the different systems.
In detail
· Provides quality service that supports the International Guarantee activities
· Responsible for the review, vetting, drafting and processing of Standby Letters of Credit [SBLC] / Guarantee language
· Responsible for issuing, amending, advising, Confirming Guarantees and Stand-by Letters of Credit
· Approves transactions
· Handle the One World Guarantee portfolio for US banks
· Follows procedures while reviewing the text and issuing the guarantee, that the accounting principles are respected when issuing and registering the fees in the systems.
· Applies the customer’s conditions in line with the facility
· Obtain necessary approvals
· Is up to date and complies to our procedures, international rules and regulations regarding our activity and on the sanctions that governing parties have communicated to the Bank.
Following Operational Rules & Procedures
· Ensures to apply AML, OFAC, Compliance regulations and BNPP’s CSR procedures
· Ensures that transaction processing is consistent with departmental procedures and is in accordance with established administrative guidelines and is consistent within the overall department objectives.
· Assures the maintenance of departmental policies and procedures, including the review and drafting of polices for specialized processing areas under the team responsibility.
· Investigates and resolves any inquiries or transaction anomalies on a timely basis, and or within established timetables, received from customers, banks and or any internal sources.
· Routinely reports any problematic, irregular transactions, administrative and or personnel issues to management deemed to present any potential risk or exposure to the bank.
· Ensures good relationship with the other departments.
· Shares knowledge and technical experience with other teams.
· Ensures good team work between the teams and assisting other teams in need by cross-coverage when the other team’s workload increases.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of the rules governing International Letters of Guarantees and Letters of Credit
- ICC uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758)
- Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits (UCP 600)
- International Standby Practices (ISP 98)
- Good knowledge of AML, OFAC Compliance regulations
- Familiarity with bank accounting systems
- Fluent in English and French language
- Microsoft Office tools; Word and Excel
- At least 2 to 4 years’ experience in handling Bank guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit
- Ability to write clear and concise policies procedures documenting departmental procedures
