YOUR JOB IN A NUTSHELL

Join BNP Paribas Fortis and take a leading role in shaping the bank’s capital strategy. Within our Finance team, you’ll steer solvency and capital planning, working on regulatory evolutions, scenario analysis and strategic capital actions. You’ll contribute directly to key decisions presented to senior management and the Board. If you’re looking to make an impact at the heart of financial decision-making, this is your opportunity.

AND IN DETAIL

Lead a small, expert team (2-3 people) and contribute directly to decisions that matter at the highest level of the organisation.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Team leadership : manage and support a small team (2-3 colleagues) and ensure the quality and timely delivery of their work.
  • Capital committee coordination : organise and lead the quarterly Capital Committee and the Large Exposure Committee, where the bank’s most important capital and risk decisions are made.
  • Regulatory capital modelling & monitoring : model and regularly monitor the bank’s capital ratios, both on a consolidated level and for the individual Belgian entity.
  • Regulatory contribution (ICAAP) : contribute to the ICAAP (the bank’s internal capital assessment) on all regulatory capital topics.
  • Capital management actions : identify and help execute strategic capital actions such as the issuance of specific financial instruments.
  • Expert role in regulatory capital : act as a trusted advisor within the bank and work closely with BNP Paribas Group on all regulatory capital topics.
  • Regulatory monitoring & representation : follow international and European regulatory developments (CRD, CRR, BRRD, DGS) and represent the bank in key sector discussions (e.g. Febelfin).
  • Senior management communication : coordinate reporting and recommendations to the bank’s top decision-makers (CFO, COO, Executive Committees, Board of Directors) and to regulators (European Central Bank, National Bank of Belgium).

What makes this role interesting?

Direct exposure to senior management and the bank’s key governance bodies. A strategic position at the crossroads of finance, regulation and risk. The chance to influence decisions that shape the financial stability of the bank. A human-sized, supportive team with real impact. Strong collaboration with BNP Paribas Group and the wider banking community.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

  • You hold a Master’s degree (in business engineering, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field).
  • Bring at least five years of relevant experience in finance, advisory, or audit.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the banking sector and its specific business models.
  • Are familiar with the Basel framework and the European Union’s regulatory requirements for banks (CRD, CRR, etc.).
  • Have a good working knowledge of IFRS standards applicable to the banking industry, particularly regarding consolidation.
  • Can conceptualise models that reflect the bank’s capital ratio trajectories.
  • Naturally detect flaws and inconsistencies in data and analysis.
  • Are comfortable designing clear, effective, and impactful presentations.
  • Communicate fluently in English, French, and Dutch.
  • Confidently use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) and quickly adapt to new systems and tools.
