MISSIONThe Corporate Sales Team in Global Markets is looking for an intern to join the team based in Madrid. The successful candidate will help promote and originate hedging solutions across FX and Rates for corporate clients based in Iberia.
About the role
Join BNP Paribas’s Global Markets Corporate Sales team in our vibrant Madrid office. As an Intern you will get a front‑line view of our corporate client universe, learn how market dynamics shape business decisions, and support a fast‑moving team that works closely with Trading, Structuring, Research and other specialised functions. The rotation offers a hands‑on experience in client‑facing activities, data‑driven analysis and the development of practical tools that improve the team’s efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Client & business insights – Support the team in mapping the corporate client base, understanding each client’s industry, strategy and financing needs.
- Market & trend analysis – Track macro‑ and micro‑economic indicators, commodity/FX/equity trends and translate them into concise internal reports.
- Cross‑functional collaboration – Liaise daily with Traders, Structurers, Research analysts and product specialists to gather information for client solutions.
- Project participation – Contribute to internal initiatives (process optimisation, digital‑tool rollout, data‑visualisation projects).
- Tool development – Assist in building simple automation or data‑extraction scripts (e.g., Excel/VBA, Python, Power BI) that help the team retrieve market or client data faster.
- Operational support – Help with day‑to‑day tasks such as preparing pitch decks, updating CRM records, and responding to ad‑hoc information requests.
- Idea generation – Propose and test workflow improvements, new data sources or presentation formats that increase the team’s speed and quality of service.
- Presentation preparation – Draft and edit materials (pitch books, market commentaries, client updates) for internal and external use.
REQUIREMENTS
* Studies
Degree in Finance, Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering
* Experience
Experience in financial markets and instruments desirable
FX knowledge is a strong plus
* Languages
Fluent Spanish and English (written and spoken), Portuguese and/or French is a plus
SKILLS
* Technical
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Coding proficiency and Bloomberg knowledge would be viewed positively
* Transversal & Behavioral
Curious, proactive, detail-oriented, problem-solving and analytical attitude to fully support sales in all internal and client-facing activities, making sure the team delivers relevant, timely and top quality content, solutions and pricing to clients.
Team player with strong technical, commercial and interpersonal skills.
