Economic Research Intern
Main Responsibilities
- Support the production of daily and weekly macro‑economic reports (market briefings, meeting notes, data‑release analyses).
- Assist in developing, maintaining and improving econometric models (e.g., inflation, activity, labour‑market models).
- Collect, clean and organise economic data sets from multiple sources (IBGE, BCB, market‑data providers).
- Perform exploratory data analysis and help translate quantitative results into economic insight.
- Prepare material for internal discussions, client presentations and investor interactions.
- Monitor key macro‑economic indicators and policy developments in Brazil and globally.
- Contribute to thematic research projects and deep‑dives on macro‑economic topics.
Position Requirements
- Undergraduate student in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
- Strong grades, especially in macro‑economics, econometrics and statistics.
- High attention to detail; ability to work with large data sets and conduct rigorous analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of at least one programming language (R or Python preferred).
- Familiarity with basic concepts such as regression analysis, time‑series and econometric modelling.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and take ownership of deliverables.
- Experience with economic data analysis or research (academic or professional).
- Knowledge of Brazilian macro‑economic indicators and institutions.
- Experience with data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, ggplot).
