The Associate - Debt Capital Markets position will support the development and execution of strategy for the DCM business in Australia and New Zealand. They will assist in the coverage and relationship management of key strategic clients across a range of segments. Assist in maintaining ongoing communication with clients through pricing updates, sharing market developments, and providing support for RFPs and queries. 

 Principal Role Accountabilities

  • Support senior leadership and originators in the implementation of client initiatives, the identification of new business opportunities, and the achievement of the region’s growth objectives.
  • Assist in the maintenance of existing relationships with strategic DCM clients across the Corporate, Financial, and SSA segments.
  • Contribute to regular communication with clients and prospects by preparing market insights, pricing updates, and summaries of key developments and funding opportunities.
  • Produce high-quality pitchbooks, presentation materials, and detailed responses to RFPs for client meetings and follow-ups.
  • Support the generation of trade ideas by conducting market research and analyzing client needs in the context of current market conditions.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to broaden the existing client portfolio to contribute to the growth of the DCM business locally and globally.
  • Drive the technical aspects of origination and execution, including (but not limited to) detailed due diligence, documentation support, investor marketing materials, roadshow coordination, settlement tracking, and post-transaction analysis.
  • Respond to client enquiries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all information is prepared to a high standard for senior review.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal functions (e.g., Syndicate, Legal, Corporate Banking, Financial Coverage) to facilitate a smooth origination and execution process.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all legal and regulatory authorities, conduct protocols, compliance and audit requirements, and established bank-approved risk limits.

 What is required for you to succeed?

  • Previous experience within Debt Capital Markets at the Analyst or Associate level.
  • Strong technical proficiency in financial analysis and modeling, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage complex workstreams, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines in a high-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • A commitment to operating with excellence, professionalism, and the highest levels of integrity and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • A results-driven mindset and a strong collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
